The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) and the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) recently surveyed the stadiums that Indonesia will use to host the 2024 U16 and U19 Southeast Asian Championships. AFF representatives were very pleased with Indonesia's preparations for these important youth tournaments this year.
Ronny John Suhatril, Director of Tournament Organization at PSSI, affirmed that the organization and facilities for the 2024 Southeast Asian U16 and U19 tournaments will not differ significantly from the 2023 U17 World Cup, which Indonesia hosted last year.
Mr. Ronny John Suhatril also confirmed that all 12 member federations of the AFF (including Australia) have registered to participate in the 2024 U16 and U19 Southeast Asian Championships.
The 2024 Southeast Asian U16 Championship is scheduled to take place from June 21st to July 4th this year in Surakarta, using two stadiums: Manahan and Sriwedari. Meanwhile, the 2024 Southeast Asian U19 Championship will be held from July 17th to July 29th at two stadiums: Gelora Bung Tomo and the 10/11 Stadium.
Of the aforementioned stadiums, Manahan and Gelora Bung Tomo were the venues for most of the matches of the 2023 U17 World Cup finals last November.
