After the province's merger, up to now, Ca Mau has 43/55 communes meeting new rural standards, accounting for 78.18%; of which 3 communes meet advanced new rural standards and 1 commune meets model standards.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Su acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts in implementing and disbursing capital for National Target Programs across the province.

Regarding the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, in the 2021-2024 period, the poverty rate in the whole province will decrease by an average of 0.78% per year. The number of poor households will decrease from 21,066 households (in 2021) to 4,471 households (at the end of 2024), accounting for 0.84%, equivalent to a decrease of 16,595 households, reaching a decrease of 3.12% after 4 years.

From the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, after 4 years of program implementation, 16,595 poor households have been reduced; a reduction rate of 3.12%.

Regarding the Socio -Economic Development Program for Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas, up to now, the progress and targets set out in the plan have been basically achieved. The province has completed the target of reducing poverty among ethnic minorities by 2% or more each year, and in particularly difficult areas by 3% or more. Ca Mau is striving to have at least 2 communes and 22 hamlets out of extremely difficult areas by the end of 2025, according to the target assigned by the Prime Minister.

According to Mr. Tran Cong Khanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Finance, the total capital plan allocated for the three national target programs is about 1,290 billion VND, and by October 8, more than 630 billion VND had been disbursed, reaching 49%. After reorganizing the local government apparatus at two levels, the province has completed the Steering Committee for the implementation of national target programs for the period 2021-2025, assigning specific tasks to each member to ensure unity and continuity in direction from the province to the grassroots level.

The National Target Program on socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the province has so far basically met the progress and planned goals.

Concluding the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Su acknowledged the efforts of all levels and sectors in deploying and disbursing capital. However, he also pointed out that there are still some units with slow progress, which need to be reviewed and resolved promptly.

He requested that the program's governing agencies, based on their assigned functions and tasks, closely coordinate with localities to review, provide professional guidance, remove difficulties, and ensure 100% disbursement progress according to the Prime Minister 's direction.

The rural appearance is increasingly improving thanks to the National Target Program on New Rural Development.

For units with low disbursement rates, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions to synthesize the causes, develop a work plan, and complete before October 30, 2025.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Su requested the Department of Finance to regularly review and urge the progress of implementation and disbursement of capital plans for the National Target Programs in 2025 of investors; promptly report and propose to the Provincial People's Committee to consider and direct the removal of difficulties and obstacles beyond its authority. At the same time, preside over and coordinate with localities and program management agencies to review and propose appropriate adjustments to the capital plan, speed up the completion progress, put the project into use, and ensure compliance with regulations.
