Can Tho: Promoting innovation, creating spillover effects for the Mekong Delta region

The 1st Congress of Can Tho City Party Committee, term 2025-2030 will take place from September 26-28 at the City Military Command Hall with 485 official delegates, representing more than 140,000 party members; the proportion of women is nearly 20%, ethnic minority delegates is nearly 4%.

This is a major political event, taking place after the process of streamlining the apparatus and merging, opening a new development phase with strong momentum, belief and aspiration, affirming the central and driving role of the Mekong Delta region.

The preparations for the Congress were carried out meticulously, scientifically , strictly, and in accordance with the Central regulations. The documents submitted to the Congress were built on the basis of closely following reality, with the motto of being concise, easy to understand, easy to remember, easy to do, easy to check.

The draft political report sets out 28 main targets, 10 major groups of solutions, 5 key tasks and 3 breakthroughs, orienting comprehensive development for the city in the new term.

A notable new point is that the process of collecting comments on documents is widely deployed to cadres, party members and people through the application of information technology.

The application "Can Tho Smart" has become a modern interactive channel, receiving multi-dimensional opinions, reflecting people's aspirations, contributing to enhancing publicity, transparency and democracy in the document preparation process.

The application of information technology in management, operation and consultation has opened up a new direction, in line with the digital transformation trend, while improving the quality of resolution-making work.

The targets and tasks stated in the document are all based on reality, feasible, and linked to the city's specific advantages. The identification of breakthroughs and key solutions demonstrates strategic vision and determination to create strong changes that have a ripple effect throughout the Mekong Delta region.

The Congress's theme demonstrates political determination in building a clean and strong Party and political system; focusing on comprehensive socio-economic development, linked with international integration, ensuring national defense and security. This is also an opportunity to unify will, arouse pride, promote the spirit of innovation, creativity, discipline, solidarity and breakthrough development, creating new momentum for the construction and development of Can Tho to become the driving force for development of the entire Mekong Delta region.

The consistent spirit of the 2025 - 2030 term set by the Can Tho City Party Committee is to promote tradition, continue achievements, overcome limitations, unleash potential and create strategic breakthroughs. This is the connection between immediate goals and long-term vision, between the common interests of the city and the sustainable development of the entire Mekong Delta region.
