The Special Forces Police have been built and developed strongly over many years, equipped and trained to deal with the most dangerous and complex situations, from suppressing terrorist crimes to rescuing hostages. This requires not only high combat skills but also courage and unwavering political resolve.
With his photo series "Special Forces Police Performing Qigong," author Pham Dang Khiem captured these impressive Qigong and martial arts demonstrations as part of the opening ceremony of the 2nd Military and Martial Arts Competition for Combat Forces in the People's Public Security in 2023, held in Quang Nam on June 4, 2023. The Qigong and martial arts demonstrations by the special forces police, such as jumping over a fire bridge; using steel-reinforced ropes; smashing tiles with sledgehammers; lying on a wooden plank with nails driven into it and then smashing the stone with a sledgehammer; lying on a plank with a tire hitting the stomach; bracing against steel and wooden bars; smashing coconuts with bare hands; and carrying weights across broken glass, captivated the audience. The photo series was submitted to the Happy Vietnam Photo and Video Contest, organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications .
To achieve such skillful qigong performances requires rigorous training, willpower, and a special passion for this discipline.
Recognizing this as both an honor and a responsibility, each officer and soldier participating in the training and exercises demonstrated high morale, overcame difficulties, strictly adhered to regulations and discipline on the training ground, and followed orders from commanders at all levels, ensuring the successful completion of assigned tasks and absolute safety in all aspects. The exchange process was always conducted in an open, receptive, and proactive spirit of research and learning; simultaneously, it showcased the skills and capabilities of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security's Special Forces in counter-terrorism operations.
