The huge influx of tourists from China has brought new business opportunities, especially in the tourism, accommodation, and food sectors in Cao Bang.
Reasons why Cao Bang attracts Chinese tourists .
Often referred to as the "green gem" of the Northeast region, Cao Bang attracts tourists not only with its picturesque landscapes and majestic nature but also with the unique cultural characteristics of its ethnic minority communities. The Cao Bang Geopark – a UNESCO-recognized global geopark – along with its special national historical sites and natural beauty, has made it an ideal destination for international tourists, especially those from China.
Recently, Vietnam and China officially launched the Ban Gioc Waterfall - Duc Thien scenic area on October 15th. This is a cross-border cooperation area between the two countries, covering 400 hectares, with 200 hectares on each side. Tourists from both countries can freely cross the border, as long as they remain within the 400-hectare scenic area. Authorities from both countries have worked together to complete all procedures, from customs clearance to immigration control, ensuring tourists can cross the border smoothly and safely.

A Chinese tourist shared: " Now the procedures for crossing the border between the two countries are very easy. Vietnam is a very attractive tourist destination for us."
Furthermore, convenient transportation makes Cao Bang an easily accessible and attractive destination for tourists from neighboring countries. The Nanning-Guangzhou, Guiyang-Guangzhou, and Nanning-Kunming high-speed railways, with maximum speeds of up to 350 km/h, allow Chinese tourists to easily reach Cao Bang and other northern border provinces of Vietnam in just a few hours.
Trends in hotel and restaurant investment in the center of Cao Bang City.
According to experts, the massive influx of tourists from China is opening up many new investment and business opportunities in Cao Bang province.
Over the years, Cao Bang City has recorded significant growth in the number of tourists. In the first seven months of this year, Cao Bang welcomed more than 1 million visitors, including over 15,000 international tourists.
However, according to data from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Cao Bang province, the entire province currently has only 300 accommodation establishments, including one 3-star hotel. Therefore, in recent years, the Cao Bang provincial government has made efforts to improve urban areas, create cultural landmarks, and attract investors in infrastructure to meet the diverse needs of tourists.
Since 2019, the pedestrian street and food market in Cao Bang city on Kim Dong Street has been officially in operation. The flower garden on Hoang Nhu Street is also a favorite check-in spot for many tourists.
The increasing number of tourists, coupled with a shortage of adequate accommodation, opens up investment opportunities in hotel, restaurant, and entertainment services in the heart of Cao Bang City. Investors who seize this opportunity early can reap double profits from the hotel-restaurant business model and the appreciation of real estate value.

Investing in this business model not only meets the growing demand for accommodation but also creates a significant boost for Cao Bang's tourism industry, helping the locality become a new bright spot on Vietnam's tourism map.
