Of this, the section passing through Phu My town is 15.5km long, and the final section through Ba Ria city is 4km long.

Meanwhile, the entire Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway (phase 1), spanning 53.7km with 4-6 lanes, has a total investment of 17,837 billion VND. The project is divided into three component projects. Of these, component projects 1 and 2, totaling 34.2km, are being implemented in Dong Nai province, with a total cost of over 12,600 billion VND.

At the groundbreaking ceremony in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Mr. Nguyen Van Tho, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, said that the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway is a key national transportation project that, according to Resolution No. 24 of the Politburo and Resolution No. 154 of the Government on the development of the Southeast region, must be completed and put into use by 2026. This aims to open up a transportation route connecting localities in the region with the Cai Mep - Thi Vai deep-water port system and Long Thanh airport, helping to reduce congestion and shorten travel time on the existing National Highway 51. The travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to Ba Ria is expected to be only 70 minutes instead of the current 150 minutes.

According to Mr. Tho, once completed, this expressway will significantly contribute to solving inter-regional traffic problems, maximizing the advantages of the Cai Mep - Thi Vai deep-water port and Long Thanh international airport. This will facilitate transportation, reduce costs for businesses, increase the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods, and create momentum for the East and Southwest regions to develop even more strongly in the future.

This is an extremely important event, a step towards realizing the contents of Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW dated October 7, 2022, of the Politburo on socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the Southeast region until 2030, with a vision to 2045.

“This is proof of the determination to cooperate and connect the region as outlined in Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW of the Politburo. The project implementation must be carried out seriously and synchronously according to the set plan. At the same time, provincial departments and agencies, according to their functions and duties, should strengthen inspection, supervision, and monitoring of project implementation, especially in preventing corruption, negative practices, and waste throughout the project's implementation process, from investment preparation to final settlement and completion, putting the project into operation.
