According to eyewitnesses, the fire occurred at approximately 9 PM on June 23rd at Thuyen Lam Pagoda (150 Dien Bien Phu Street, Truong An Ward, Hue City, Thua Thien Hue Province).
A local resident near Thuyen Lam Pagoda said that they initially saw thick smoke rising from the pagoda, followed by shouts of "fire!" The flames then erupted in the main hall area, illuminating the entire Thuyen Lam Pagoda grounds.

At the scene, authorities in Thua Thien Hue province blocked off both ends of Dien Bien Phu street, requesting people to stay away from the temple gate area.
According to reporters, six specialized vehicles and dozens of firefighters and rescue personnel from Thua Thien Hue province were deployed to the scene.
The leaders of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Police were also present to directly supervise the rescue and firefighting efforts.

At approximately 10:30 PM on the same day, after a period of concentrated rescue efforts, the authorities extinguished the fire at Thuyen Lam Pagoda.
