As the year draws to a close, one of the top concerns for employees is, "How much will my Tet bonus be this year?"; "When will I receive my Tet bonus?". Businesses also enter a rush phase, simultaneously preparing Tet bonuses and salaries for their employees.
Along with welfare plans directly organized by the trade unions, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor is also directing grassroots trade unions to develop plans, monitor, and negotiate wages and bonuses to ensure the rights of workers.
Located in Thai Nguyen province, DBG Technology Vietnam's production and business operations were somewhat affected by the recent historic floods. However, with the involvement of the labor union, the company has basically agreed on a Tet bonus policy for its employees.
Mr. Zeng Shuiping, Director of Administration and Human Resources at DBG Technology Vietnam, stated: "According to the general policy between the company and the trade union, all employees will receive a bonus equivalent to one month's basic salary during Tet (Lunar New Year). Last year, the company adjusted salaries twice, in April and August, raising the basic salary from VND 4,560,000 to VND 6,400,000, demonstrating the company's concern for the well-being of its employees."
In another company, the development of a compensation policy is also being actively negotiated between the labor union and the board of directors.
Mr. Zhu Guanjun, General Director of Hengxin Vietnam New Materials Technology Company, said: "Currently, the company has not finalized the Tet bonus amount, but has committed to the labor union that it will not withhold salaries. The labor union proposed a bonus of at least one month's income, and both sides are still negotiating."
Trade unions at all levels have identified and monitored wages and bonuses as a key task at the end of the year to ensure the legitimate rights of workers.
During the Lunar New Year holiday, along with practical welfare programs such as providing train and bus tickets for returning home and other life support activities, the trade union continues to closely monitor each enterprise to ensure that wages and bonuses are paid transparently.
This support not only helps employees feel secure in their work, but also creates trust and motivation for them to stay committed and contribute to the overall development of the business.
