President Luong Cuong successfully concluded his State visit to the Republic of Angola.

According to the special correspondent of VNA, on the afternoon of August 8 (local time), President Luong Cuong and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, left the capital Luanda, successfully concluding the State visit to the Republic of Angola at the invitation of President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço and his wife.

Earlier, a solemn farewell ceremony for the President and his wife was held at the Angolan Presidential Palace. The car carrying President Luong Cuong and his wife entered the Presidential Palace to welcoming music. President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço and his wife greeted President Luong Cuong and his wife at the parking area and respectfully invited the President to the honorary platform. The military band played the national anthems of both countries. Following this, the Angolan President invited President Luong Cuong to review the honor guard. At the end of the ceremony, the two leaders shared warm embraces, expressing confidence that this visit was a significant milestone in the history of bilateral relations and a driving force to elevate the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Angola to a new level.

Seeing off President Luong Cuong and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, at Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport in Luanda were Foreign Minister Tete António; Angolan Ambassador to Vietnam Fernando Miguel; Luanda Governor Luis Manuel da Fonseca; and Director of the State Protocol Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Angola Jorge Pataca. On the Vietnamese side were Vietnamese Ambassador to Angola Duong Chinh Chuc and other officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Angola.

During the visit, President Luong Cuong held successful talks with President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço; met with Speaker of the National Assembly Carolina Cerqueira; worked with leaders of the Angolan People's Liberation Movement Party; met with the Vietnamese community in Angola; and attended the 50th anniversary celebration of diplomatic relations between the two countries. In particular, President Luong Cuong delivered an important speech at a special plenary session of the Angolan National Assembly, conveying a policy message about Vietnam's desire to make a greater contribution to world politics , the global economy, and human civilization; as well as outlining directions to promote the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries. The two sides also issued a Vietnam-Angola Joint Statement, demonstrating their commitment and determination to open a new phase in bilateral cooperation.

During the talks and meetings, the President and Angolan leaders unanimously affirmed that the close fraternal and friendly relationship between Vietnam and Angola is a valuable shared asset, a solid foundation for the two countries to open a new phase of development, and to further strengthen and deepen the political trust and mutual support between the two Parties and States, as well as the solidarity, close ties, and mutual understanding between the two peoples. Both sides also shared a common understanding of the importance of elevating bilateral trade and investment cooperation, strengthening cooperation in key areas such as defense and security, and promoting and diversifying forms of cooperation in traditional fields such as medical expertise, education, and agriculture.

In a key policy speech before the National Assembly, highly appreciated by the legislative leadership and members of the Angolan National Assembly, President Luong Cuong proposed "5 enhancements" to guide cooperation between Vietnam and Angola in the coming period, with the desire to further promote cooperation with Angola, build a "cooperative partnership for mutual development," and make the Vietnam-Angola relationship a model for South-South cooperation.

After 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations, Vietnam and Angola have overcome all the changes of the times, always demonstrating the enduring solidarity, unwavering loyalty, and fraternal affection of friends, comrades, and brothers; and this State visit by President Luong Cuong is a solid foundation for the continued positive and sustainable development of bilateral relations, for the benefit of the people of both countries, and for peace, stability, and prosperity in each region and the world.
