Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc visited the scene of the fire at Doc Lap residential area.

Regarding the serious fire that occurred late on July 6 at Doc Lap residential area (Phu Tho Hoa ward, Ho Chi Minh city), authorities confirmed that 8 people died, including 4 victims from the same family.

As of the morning of July 7, Ho Chi Minh City Police in coordination with local authorities were still blocking off the scene on Do Doc Long Street to investigate the cause of the fire.

According to initial information, the four victims from the same family were identified as: Mr. N.D.D (born in 1985, from Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa ); Ms. D.TNA (born in 1987, from Ninh Binh, Mr. D's wife), PK (born in 2014, Mr. D's son) and PNA (born in 2018, Mr. D's daughter).

Earlier, at around 9:30 p.m. on July 6, a fire broke out on the ground floor of Doc Lap Residence, 80/7 Do Doc Long Street. A few minutes later, the fire flared up and then exploded, causing panic among residents.

Upon receiving the news, the Ho Chi Minh City Fire Prevention and Fighting Police dispatched more than 10 specialized vehicles and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire and rescue people. By dawn on July 7, 8 bodies had been found, including 6 adults and 2 children.

Despite efforts to save three people, the fire still left particularly serious consequences for people and property.

That same night, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee arrived at the scene to direct the work of overcoming the consequences. The leaders of the City People's Committee also expressed their deep condolences to the victims' relatives.

“This is an irreparable loss, leaving pain not only for the victims' families but also for the entire community and city government,” the leader of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee emphasized.
