Thanks to the efforts of Quang Ninh's functional sectors, border trade activities at Bac Phong Sinh border gate in the first 6 months of 2024 have improved a lot.

Accordingly, the total value of goods imported and exported through the Bac Phong Sinh border gate in the first six months is estimated at 33,796,155 USD (of which: the value of officially imported and exported goods reached 17,645,295 USD; the value of goods exported by border residents reached 15,220,000 USD), an increase of 77.19% compared to the same period in 2023; revenue from infrastructure usage fees reached 2.2 billion VND, an increase of 105% compared to the same period. The main export items are frozen seafood (fish) and agricultural products (water hyacinth, sedge, pepper, dried longan, dried lotus seeds, dried fish, anchovies, etc.); the main import items are footwear, general merchandise, and fan components.
Notably, on June 25, 2024, at the Bac Phong Sinh cargo bridge, Hai Ha district, Quang Ninh province (Vietnam), the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) solemnly held a ceremony to officially announce the opening of the Bac Phong Sinh (Vietnam) - Li Huo (China) border crossing, part of the Hoanh Mo (Vietnam) - Dong Trung (China) bilateral border gate pair. The announcement of the opening of the Bac Phong Sinh (Vietnam) - Li Huo (China) border crossing , part of the Hoanh Mo (Vietnam) - Dong Trung (China) bilateral border gate pair, is an important prerequisite for both sides to proceed with planning, attracting investment, upgrading infrastructure, researching appropriate policy mechanisms, creating favorable conditions for cross-border activities, import and export, and promoting comprehensive cooperation and development in the fields of investment, trade, intermodal transport, and tourism . Promote people-to-people exchange activities to meet the legitimate needs and expectations of the people, businesses, and investors of the two countries.
In recent times, to facilitate import and export activities through the border gate, the functional agencies at Bac Phong Sinh border gate have coordinated to quickly and properly resolve procedures; and collect fees and charges according to regulations.

The Bac Phong Sinh Border Gate Management Board consistently maintains a well-functioning mechanism for meetings and consensus-building in resolving issues related to customs clearance at the Bac Phong Sinh border gate; continues administrative reform, improving the quality and efficiency of border gate management and control to expedite and reduce customs clearance procedures. The Board closely coordinates with relevant agencies to create favorable and open conditions to attract businesses to participate in import and export activities at the Bac Phong Sinh border gate; and promptly addresses any obstacles related to immigration and import/export activities. The Board continues to maintain a hotline between the Bac Phong Sinh Border Gate Management Board and the Na Luong Border Trade Department to exchange information on immigration, import/export, and management mechanisms and policies with functional forces at the Ly Hoa border gate - China. This allows for better understanding and coordinated management, creating a transparent and equitable environment for economic cooperation and development, and providing favorable conditions for Vietnamese and Chinese traders to conduct import and export activities. Through the hotline, the Border Gate Management Board promptly coordinates with customs, border guards, and quarantine sectors to quickly handle information and content as proposed by Ly Hoa Border Gate related to entry, exit, and import-export activities.
Authorities at the Bac Phong Sinh border gate are attentive to and promptly address the difficulties faced by businesses; creating all necessary conditions for import and export businesses to operate in accordance with regulations. For example, the Bac Phong Sinh Border Gate Customs Sub-department regularly exchanges information and maintains close relationships with businesses currently processing customs procedures at the Sub-department to ensure stability and expand the variety and types of import and export goods; and organizes dialogue conferences between the Sub-department and businesses involved in importing goods through the area. Through these conferences, the Sub-department has introduced and disseminated several new policies related to import and export activities; directly answered business concerns within its authority; and for issues beyond its authority, the Sub-department has recorded them and will discuss them with relevant agencies to resolve them, informing businesses of the results once they are available.
Along with that, functional sectors strengthen their grasp of the area, collect information, monitor and strictly control border gate areas, export points, trails and openings, and prevent smuggling and illegal transportation of goods across the border.
