Talking to students, cyber security expert Ngo Minh Hieu (Hieu PC), Director of the Anti-Fraud Project, focused on issues related to safety and security when using social networks, especially images and personal information.
Using pirated software risks losing personal data
Cyber security expert Hieu PC asked the question: "How to set a secure password?". A student replied that a strong password should include uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and special characters, and preferably a string of information that only he or she knows.
Agreeing with the student's opinion, cyber security expert Ngo Minh Hieu also warned that cybercriminal organizations are now using AI to crack passwords. Common passwords such as "123456" or words in the dictionary can be cracked in just a few seconds. Setting passwords based on birthdays, pet names or common personal information is also very vulnerable to attack.
In addition, downloading pirated games and free software from unknown sources is also the reason why personal information is stolen. "Nothing is free. When you use pirated software, not only is it a copyright violation, but you also risk losing personal data," the expert noted.
Accordingly, this expert said, bad guys can take advantage of images and personal information of social network users to scam, blackmail or use illegally. These risks not only affect finances but can also cause harm to individuals and safety. Users need to be careful when sharing personal information on social networks, especially images, videos and information related to themselves and their families.

Students of Bui Thi Xuan High School were excited about the talk by a cybersecurity expert.

Therefore, this expert noted that students need to strictly manage and control their friends list on social networks, avoiding connecting with strangers or unknown people. Authorities and schools need to strengthen education and warnings about the dangers related to information security on social networks.
Note about online scams
Also during the talk with students, cybersecurity expert Hieu PC shared lessons learned about the use of artificial intelligence and related risks, especially issues of fraud, information forgery and online phishing attacks.
From there, expert Ngo Minh Hieu pointed out that students need to be careful when using social networks, need to always be vigilant and carefully check information, avoid being deceived or misused.
Regarding online fraud, experts say that bad actors can use AI to create fake content, fake images, and scam messages to defraud and steal personal information or property.
Experts also warn students to be wary of requests to transfer money or provide personal information: Scammers may use excuses such as "kidnapped", "injured" or "needing financial support" to trick users into transferring money or providing personal information. According to experts, students should not share personal information through unknown channels: Scammers may impersonate relatives, friends or authorities to commit fraud.
Fraudsters are constantly updating and inventing new scam methods, so students need to be aware and vigilant in cyber-related situations.
At the end of the expert's talk, Mr. Huynh Thanh Phu, Principal of Bui Thi Xuan High School, shared: "Technology fraud and online kidnapping are major concerns, especially for students. Schools are responsible for equipping students with knowledge and skills to protect themselves. During the 70-minute talk, the cybersecurity expert brought many valuable lessons and the school will continue to integrate this content into lessons and educational activities.
Mr. Phu also informed that after the sharing session, the literature group will guide students to write an essay to assess their awareness of network safety. In particular, on October 27, the school will invite the Ho Chi Minh City Police to share an extended topic, helping students gain more multi-dimensional perspectives and avoid unnecessary risks.
