The flame of charity from the vegetarian kitchen.
Regularly, on the 15th and 1st of each lunar month, the small kitchen at Ms. Hang's house bustles with the sounds of knives and cutting boards, the aroma of stir-fried vegetables, and the lively conversations of union members and relatives. From 5 a.m., everyone starts working: washing vegetables, peeling roots, etc., so that by 11 a.m., 150-200 hot vegetarian meals are ready to be delivered to the distribution point at kilometer 106 on National Highway 20.
These vegetarian meals are not only visually appealing and nutritious but also full of compassion. The recipients are poor laborers, lonely elderly people, and travelers stopping by... everyone smiles when they meet the kind eyes and polite greetings of this "little Youth Union Secretary." "Getting free vegetarian meals like this on the full moon day is so wonderful, both delicious and heartwarming," shared a motorbike taxi driver at Dinh Quan market.

Supporting young people in their journey to success.
As the Secretary of the Youth Union of the commune, Ms. Hang is not only involved with the charitable meal program but also acts as a "bridge" to bring policies to young people. Entrusted with the task of managing loans from the Social Policy Bank, she has helped 36 young people who have just left school access preferential loans to continue their studies or vocational training.
"There are some bright students who are planning to drop out because their families are facing financial difficulties. I have to go to their homes, both to encourage them and to help them with loan applications. When I see them return to school, I'm so happy," Ms. Hang confided.
In addition, she proactively contacted media outlets and scholarship funds to seek sponsorship for computers and textbooks for disadvantaged students. Many poor families in remote hamlets, who previously considered education a luxury, now have renewed hope that their children can continue attending school.

"The Shield of Youth"
When the storms and floods hit this season, many roofs in the commune were blown off, trees fell blocking roads, belongings were submerged, and electricity was cut off. Ms. Hang was the first to call on youth union members, police youth, and military youth in the area to come and help. From cleaning up houses, rebuilding roofs, clearing fallen trees... to mobilizing emergency support from the "For the Poor" fund, she was present and directly in charge.
Even on rainy, muddy days, her blue volunteer uniform and that of the other youth union members stood out in the village. This image touched the hearts of the villagers, who trusted her and called her the "youth's shield" of the commune.

Raising funds from bouquets of flowers.
On occasions like International Women's Day (March 8th), Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20th), or other major holidays, Ms. Hang utilizes her artificial flower shop to initiate fundraising activities. Youth union members are assigned to sell flowers at various locations, and a portion of the profits is used to provide scholarships for underprivileged students.
In 2021, her fund supported 15 students, giving each 500,000 VND. In 2022, that number increased to 33. To date, the fund has accumulated 35 million VND, always ready for use in emergencies or on occasions like the start of the school year and Children's Day. "Flowers for people, money for children" - this creative approach is both meaningful and fosters community connection.

Passing on the flame of the movement and love for the homeland.
In addition to welfare activities, Ms. Hang also regularly organizes trips for local youth to visit historical sites, combining recreation and traditional education . Each trip includes presentations and storytelling about national heroes, helping the younger generation better understand and be proud of their homeland and country.
Meeting her at the La Ngà Victory Monument – where a delegation from Ho Chi Minh City was about to arrive – we could clearly see the hustle and bustle and the joy in her eyes. Her blue shirt was drenched in sweat, but her voice was still enthusiastic when she mentioned new plans for the Youth Union movement.
For her tireless contributions, in 2025, Ms. Pham Le Dieu Hang was honored as one of the 116 outstanding young Party members of Dinh Quan commune, and also as an outstanding Youth Union official of the commune. Prior to that, she had received numerous certificates of merit and commendations from the province and district for her achievements in Youth Union work and youth movements.

These awards are a recognition of the spirit of "wherever there is a need, the youth are there; wherever there is difficulty, the youth are there" that Ms. Hang has preserved and passed on. But for her, the most precious thing is the trust and affection of the people, colleagues, and the younger generation. "As long as I have the strength, I will continue to work. I hope that the young members of the Youth Union will see that youth is not only for living for oneself, but also for contributing to making society better," Ms. Hang said with a radiant smile.
