Diversifying forms of information poverty reduction in Dak Phoi commune

In recent times, the Dak Phoi commune government has focused on promoting poverty reduction propaganda in many forms such as through the commune radio system; propaganda on media, social networking sites; publishing leaflets, brochures... so that people can easily access information, improve knowledge, production skills, economic development, learn good practices, and effective poverty reduction models.

In particular, the loudspeaker system is invested to cover all villages and hamlets and broadcasts daily with fixed time slots at noon and evening; especially on important events, additional information and propaganda time will be added to other time slots during the day.

In addition to the broadcasting system, Dak Phoi commune also maintains visual propaganda on panels, banners, and slogans. In particular, the social networking sites of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and associations and organizations regularly update information, legal regulations, policies, and regimes that people enjoy; promptly commend good people, good deeds, and effective business models for replication in the community.

The zalo groups of each village and hamlet have also become useful and quick information channels for officials and people in the work of disseminating information, movements and activities of the locality. In addition, information on poverty reduction is also integrated into meetings and activities of associations, unions and villages and hamlets; coordinating job counseling and vocational training for workers in poor households, near-poor households, and households that have just escaped poverty...

Along with propaganda work, the popularization of internet services; investment and upgrading of telecommunications and information technology infrastructure, especially in ethnic minority villages where people's living conditions are still difficult, has also been of interest to the locality. Up to now, villages and hamlets in the commune have had broadband internet and gradually switched to fiber optic cable. The number of people and businesses using smart devices with electronic transaction applications has increased. Community digital technology groups have been established and have initially achieved many positive results...

The implementation of the "Information gap" indicator in solving the lack of social services in Dak Phoi commune has gradually achieved many positive results, contributing significantly to the implementation of poverty reduction targets in the province.

Mr. Hoang Thanh Be, Vice Chairman of Dak Phoi Commune People's Committee, said that in the coming time, the commune will continue to effectively implement solutions to support the poor in using telecommunications and internet services, applying information technology so that people can be more proactive in accessing policies, seeking support sources as well as learning experiences and solutions to escape poverty; at the same time, raising awareness, actively participating in production activities to develop the economy, gradually escaping poverty sustainably.
