Da Nang starts project to renovate infrastructure of 4 central streets

On the morning of March 25, the City's Priority Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project to renovate the drainage system and lay underground information cables and lighting on four central streets.

Attending the event were Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the City National Assembly Delegation Nguyen Van Quang; Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh; Chairman of the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Le Van Trung; Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Tran Phuoc Son.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh highly appreciated the efforts of the project management board, departments, branches, authorities of Hai Chau and Thanh Khe districts and related units in preparing and implementing the project in accordance with regulations, ensuring construction progress; at the same time, emphasizing that this is a key project in the central area, with large traffic volume, requiring close coordination between parties to ensure quality, progress, and minimize impacts on traffic and people's lives.

City leaders also requested the Department of Construction to assist in regulating traffic during peak hours, for the consortium of contractors to strictly adhere to their commitments, apply technology in management, implement construction scientifically and efficiently, and accelerate progress. Units such as Da Nang Power Company and telecommunications providers need to coordinate synchronously to avoid repeated excavation and backfilling that could affect safety and project progress.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Nam, Deputy Director of the City Priority Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that the project to renovate the drainage system and lay underground cables on Phan Chau Trinh, Le Loi, Hoang Dieu and Ong Ich Khiem streets was approved by the City People's Council in Resolution No. 15/NQ-HDND dated May 24, 2024 of the City People's Council and approved for investment in Decision No. 2532/QD-UBND dated November 11, 2024 of the City People's Committee.

The project aims to enhance urban aesthetics, improve traffic infrastructure, increase drainage capacity, serve economic and tourism development and improve people's quality of life. The project has a total length of 6.94km of 4 routes, an area of 143,130m², maintaining the current width of the road surface and sidewalks.

The main items include renovating the drainage system, burying electricity and telecommunications, upgrading lighting, paving sidewalks with granite, planting trees, relocating water supply and installing fire hydrants.

The project belongs to group B, level III technical infrastructure works, implemented from 2024-2026 with a total investment of nearly 282 billion VND from the city budget. The underground electricity, water supply and telecommunications items are invested by related units to synchronize with the project.

The City Priority Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board is the investor, the construction contractor consortium includes: Dacinco Construction Investment Company Limited, Nhat Huy Construction & Trading Company Limited, Hanoi Water Works Construction Joint Stock Company and Da Nang Public Lighting Joint Stock Company.
