Da Nang: The SURF 2024 innovation and startup festival is about to take place.

DNVN - The Da Nang Innovation and Startup Festival - SURF 2024 will be held on August 29-30 at the University of Technology (Da Nang University).

At a press conference on the morning of August 22nd introducing the Da Nang Innovation and Entrepreneurship Festival (SURF 2024), Ms. Le Thi Thuc, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology, announced that the event will take place over two days, August 29th and 30th, at the University of Technology (Da Nang University) with the theme "Reaching for Innovation - Connecting Globally" and conveying the message "Da Nang - An Innovative City".

According to Ms. Le Thi Thuc, SURF is an annual event for the startup community in Da Nang aimed at promoting the development of the startup ecosystem in the city, creating increasingly close links between the elements in the ecosystem, and supporting startups in connecting, seeking business opportunities, promoting products and services, attracting investment, and recruiting.

Within the framework of SURF 2024, an exhibition of innovative startup activities will be held on a virtual reality platform from August 15th to December 30th, attracting over 80 participating booths. A startup competition will be organized with two rounds and 30 participating teams. The preliminary round took place on July 26th. From August 23rd to 24th, training will be provided for the 10 projects selected for the final round, which will take place on August 29th, with awards presented at the opening ceremony of SURF 2024 on August 30th.

Specifically, the Da Nang Innovation and Entrepreneurship Festival - SURF 2024 will include a scientific seminar connecting the Da Nang - Seoul innovation space; a seminar connecting innovation investment between Da Nang - South Korea - Singapore; and a scientific seminar on "Pioneering Technology - Sustainable Entrepreneurship".

The scientific workshop "Model and Network for Developing Student Entrepreneurship Clubs in Da Nang City" included: presenting ideas and connecting investors in entrepreneurship; an exhibition of innovation and entrepreneurship activities with over 90 booths participating directly at the event; and the launch of the Da Nang - Singapore Innovation Space.

Ms. Le Thi Thuc emphasized that the SURF 2024 event is a gathering place for experts, startup support organizations, investors, venture capital funds, and domestic and international partners to meet, exchange ideas, and connect with investment opportunities in Da Nang, attracting the attention, support, and interest of the community.

“SURF 2024 is especially a place for startups to showcase their projects, technologies, and startup products to investors and the community. At the same time, the event also seeks support for the development of potential innovation and startup projects and helps enhance the performance of stakeholders in Da Nang City's innovation and startup ecosystem,” said Ms. Le Thi Thuc.
