The 22nd Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Gia Viễn District, term 2024-2029

Over two days (May 23-24), the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Vien district held its 22nd Congress of Delegates for the 2024-2029 term. Attending the Congress were leaders from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Gia Vien district, and the Provincial Business Association.

During the past term, the Fatherland Front at all levels and its member organizations in the district have continuously innovated the content and methods of their activities, focusing strongly on the grassroots, especially residential areas. They have actively propagated and mobilized members and all strata of the people to effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and regulations, and local regulations.

The campaigns and patriotic emulation movements, implemented with a focus on key areas and specific themes, have strongly aroused the spirit of competition and creative labor among the people and the collective efforts of the entire community in participating in economic development, building new rural areas, and civilized urban areas.

Over the past five years, the District Fatherland Front Committee has chaired consultations and coordinated with member organizations to propagate and mobilize the people to contribute cash and labor worth over 204 billion VND, and donate over 16 hectares of land for the construction of transportation infrastructure...; chaired the organization of surveys to gather people's satisfaction with the results of building new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas; focused on directing the effective implementation of models such as " Waste sorting and treatment at households and residential areas", "Mobilizing religious followers and the people to practice civilized lifestyles in weddings, funerals and festivals", contributing to improving the quality of criteria for building new rural areas and civilized urban areas.

The work of mobilizing support for the poor and social welfare activities has been effectively and practically directed and implemented by Party committees, governments, and the Fatherland Front at all levels. By the end of 2023, the "Gratitude and Social Welfare" Fund at both levels had raised over 19 billion VND; allocated funds from various levels to donate 58,530 gifts to policy beneficiary families, poor and near-poor households, and households with particularly difficult circumstances… worth over 28 billion VND; and supported the construction and repair of 535 solidarity houses. Received donations of money and relief goods from organizations, businesses, benevolent individuals, and the people totaling 1.2 billion VND to support flood victims in the Central provinces. Supported education and talent promotion activities with over 400 million VND. Received over 3.7 billion VND in cash and thousands of medical equipment, supplies, and essential goods to support the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The work of social supervision and criticism, and participation in Party and State building, has become increasingly effective. National unity and religious solidarity have been continuously strengthened and promoted; the people's diplomacy activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations have contributed to promoting and introducing the history, traditions, potential, and strengths of Gia Vien district to domestic and foreign tourists.

At the end of the term, all 5/5 targets set forth in the Resolution of the 21st Congress of the Fatherland Front of the district, term 2019-2024, were achieved.

At the Congress, leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and leaders of Gia Vien district proposed that in the next term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district should continue to strongly innovate the content and methods of its activities in a practical and effective direction. They should diversify forms of propaganda, mobilization, and gathering of the people, creating social consensus, promoting the combined strength of the great national unity, and solidarity between religious and non-religious people; and promote patriotic emulation movements and campaigns... They should also promote the role of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people. Furthermore, they should focus on training and improving the quality of cadres working in the Fatherland Front at all levels, ensuring that the cadres are reputable, qualified, and capable of meeting the requirements and tasks in the new situation.

The congress deliberated and elected 65 delegates to the Gia Viễn District Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 22nd term, 2024-2029.

At its first meeting, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Viễn district for the 2024-2029 term held consultations and elected the Standing Committee, the Chairman, Vice-Chairmen, and Standing Committee members. Ms. Mai Thị Kim Dung, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Viễn district for the 21st term, was re-elected as Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Viễn district for the 22nd term.

The Congress also held consultations to elect a delegation to attend the 12th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province, term 2024-2029.
