We urge the police to investigate the case of a young man doing pull-ups on Metro Line 1.

The operator of metro line 1 has requested the Ho Chi Minh City Police to direct relevant units to handle the case of a young man doing pull-ups on a train in a way that is considered inappropriate, in accordance with the law.

The Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Company No. 1 (HURC1) has recently submitted a request to the Ho Chi Minh City Police for assistance in handling inappropriate behavior while traveling on the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line (metro line 1).

In particular, HURC1 reported on the incident on January 24th where a young man used his hands to grab the ceiling hangers and iron bars along the ceiling of a subway train to perform exercises.

According to HURC1, the young man is most likely a member of the ASHURA-Ultimate Calissthenics Team group... This young man has repeatedly committed such acts on train number 1401 from Ben Thanh station to Suoi Tien bus station and train number 1602 from Suoi Tien bus station to Ben Thanh station.

"This young man's actions angered other passengers because the train compartment is a public space, and the handrails are installed to help passengers maintain balance while the train is in motion, not for exercise or performance."

"The act of hanging onto handrails and poles on metro trains poses a safety risk to the person performing it and to surrounding passengers. This was especially concerning given the large number of passengers on the train at the time, with many people seated in the seats below," HURC1 emphasized.

Therefore, HURC1 requests the Ho Chi Minh City Police to assist in verifying and summoning the aforementioned individual for questioning and legal action. This aims to strengthen deterrence against individuals causing public disorder on the urban railway; create and maintain a positive image of a civilized public transportation system; and promptly address inappropriate behavior while traveling on the urban railway.
