The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance has recently issued a document adjusting, updating, and supplementing the plan for arranging and relocating operational facilities for units after restructuring in Ho Chi Minh City. This includes proposing a relocation plan at the former Administrative and Political Center of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province (Administrative Center).
Previously, on September 29th, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy sent a letter requesting permission to survey and take over the former Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Administrative Center. The university reported a serious shortage of space for development and inadequate facilities to meet the learning and working needs of approximately 16,000 students, 6,000 staff members, and the healthcare needs of the local population.

Therefore, the school proposes to take over the former Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Administrative Center for use in education and healthcare.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance, in coordination with relevant agencies and units, surveyed the current situation and proposed allocating two land plots, including plot No. 01, Pham Van Dong Street, Ba Ria Ward, with an area of over 147,000 m2, and plot No. 179 Pham Van Dong Street with an area of over 29,000 m2 (these are two facilities belonging to the Administrative Center), to serve as branches of the educational and training institution and operational facilities of the University Medical Center Hospital.
According to the Department of Finance, this approach is effective in managing and utilizing buildings and land because it centralizes the management, use, operation, maintenance, and upkeep of technical systems associated with the building, while also facilitating both training and practical application.
For agencies and units of the city currently working at the Administrative Center, they will be relocated to 179A Bach Dang Street, Ba Ria Ward. This facility was formerly the office of the National Assembly Delegation, the People's Council of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the Public Administration Center, and the Provincial Party Committee's archives, with an area of approximately 7,390 m2.

Furthermore, based on a proposal from Thong Nhat Hospital to take over the existing Le Loi Hospital (currently vacant in Vung Tau ward) to build a specialized rehabilitation center providing nutritional care and functional rehabilitation for the elderly and high-ranking officials, the Department of Finance and the hospital conducted a survey. The Department also proposed allocating the land and buildings of Le Loi Hospital to Thong Nhat Hospital to serve as a branch facility.
