Ninh Thuan province delegation worked with Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) - Federal Republic of Germany

Mr. Johannes Richter, Director of International Business for India and Asia at IHK, received and worked with the delegation. Representing Ninh Thuan province at the meeting were: Mr. Nguyen Long Bien, Standing Committee Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, leading the delegation; and representatives from various departments and localities.

Speaking at the working session, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Long Bien stated that Ninh Thuan, a coastal province in the South Central region, possesses many outstanding and unique advantages. With a 105 km long coastline, a territorial sea area of ​​over 18,000 km2, located within 18 upwelling zones in the world and unique to Vietnam, it has the highest wind speed in the country (average 7.5 m/s), and the highest average number of sunshine hours in the country (approximately 2,800 hours/year). These conditions are favorable for the development of renewable energy, marine economy , tourism, high-tech agriculture, aquaculture, seafood exploitation, large-scale industrial salt production, deep-water ports, coastal industry development, logistics, etc.

Comrade Nguyen Long Bien, Standing Committee member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, delivered a speech at the working session with the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

To date, the province has attracted investment in 57 power projects (solar, wind, hydropower) with a total capacity of 3,750 MW; electricity production in 2023 reached nearly 8 billion kWh. According to the Power Development Plan VIII, by 2030 Ninh Thuan is expected to develop an additional 9,223 MW of electricity, including several key projects that will create momentum for the province's development such as: Ca Na LNG – 1,500 MW, pumped storage hydropower 2,400 MW, onshore and nearshore wind power 554 MW… For offshore wind power, the Plan identifies a national target of developing 6,000 MW by 2030, with the South Central region alone developing approximately 2,000 MW.

With the goal of strengthening cooperation and attracting investment in areas such as energy, renewable energy, high-quality tourism, processing industries, high-tech agriculture , high-quality human resource training, green growth, and climate change adaptation; especially reducing emissions and enhancing forestry finance through the trading of forest carbon credits, contributing to livelihoods for forest owners and people, and protecting the environment, Vice Chairman of the Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Long Bien respectfully invited the IHK leadership and businesses and investors from Germany to visit and work in Ninh Thuan province. The purpose is to meet, exchange information, and discuss plans to leverage the potential and strengths of mutual interest in the coming period. The province commits to creating the most favorable conditions for German investors and businesses during their research, surveys, investment connections, and access to the highest investment incentives within the scope of Vietnamese government regulations.

At the same time, we request that the Consulate General of Vietnam in Frankfurt provide support and act as a bridge to promote the image, potential, and advantages of Ninh Thuan province to German investors and businesses.

At the meeting, Mr. Johannes Richter, Director of International Business for India and Asia at IHK, stated that IHK currently has approximately 104,000 members, including 22,000 companies with international business operations, and 250 Vietnamese companies operating in Frankfurt, the largest business community in Germany. Frankfurt is the financial capital of Germany and one of Europe's major financial and banking centers, with the Frankfurt Stock Exchange being the largest in Germany and ranking among the most important financial centers in the world. Mr. Richter also emphasized: "We are very impressed with Vietnam's economic development, including the localities participating in today's meeting, especially Ninh Thuan with its new areas such as energy, renewable energy, focusing on emission reduction and strengthening forestry finance through the trading of forest carbon credits." In the coming period, as the focal point, IHK will introduce, promote, and facilitate exchanges and investments between the two sides.

As part of the program, the delegation from Ninh Thuan province and the provinces of Hoa Binh, Dak Nong, and Phu Yen previously visited and worked with the Minister of Finance of the State of Hessen, the Minister in charge of Federal, European and International Affairs of the State of Hessen, Precitec Company, and Firma Aqseptence Technology Group to survey, understand, and introduce potential opportunities between the parties in the future.
