As the year draws to a close, the business community and cooperatives in Ha Tinh province continue to proactively and flexibly implement various solutions to quickly achieve their production and business targets for 2023.
After nearly two years of temporary shutdown due to a technical issue, on August 12, 2023, Unit 1 of the Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant (Ha Tinh Oil and Gas Power Company) officially resumed operation. Maintaining the stability of both units with a total capacity of 1,200 MW not only creates growth in production and business for the enterprise but also significantly contributes to boosting the industrial production index of Ha Tinh province. In the first 10 months of 2023, the Vung Ang Thermal Power Plant is estimated to have produced 3,496 million kWh of electricity, generating revenue of approximately 6,819 billion VND.

According to the leaders of Ha Tinh Petroleum Power Company, to compensate for the time that Unit 1 had to temporarily cease operation, the company is implementing a comprehensive set of solutions to strive for the highest possible production output in 2023. Accordingly, based on practical conditions, the unit is advising the Vietnam Petroleum Power Corporation to work with the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group and related units to ensure the supply of input materials; coordinating with contractors to conduct technical inspections and maintenance of machinery and equipment according to regulations to ensure the safe and continuous operation of the units 24/7.
In 2023, Song La Xanh Packaging Joint Stock Company (Duc Tho Industrial Cluster) faced numerous challenges that hampered its production operations. The company's export orders to markets such as the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand decreased by approximately 30% compared to the same period in 2022.
Mr. Phan Tri Nghia – Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of Song La Xanh Packaging Joint Stock Company, said: “In the first 10 months of 2023, the company's revenue reached approximately 120 billion VND (a decrease of about 20 billion VND compared to the same period in 2022). In the remaining months of the year, the production and business situation still shows no more positive signs due to the impact of the economic recession, and the demand for products from partners has not yet been able to grow. To cope with difficulties, the company continues to maintain stability in the markets already signed and establishes negotiation relationships with new partners. At the same time, we focus on investing in upgrading production lines, saving costs to reduce depreciation during operation, and striving to achieve a revenue target of 180 billion VND in 2023.”

Currently, agricultural businesses are preparing supplies for the Lunar New Year market. Mr. Ho Sy Huy Thao, Director of Mitraco Ha Tinh Livestock Joint Stock Company (Thach Ha), said: “In the past, the company had to both increase disease prevention costs and suffer losses due to the sharp drop in live pig prices. Currently, the company is focusing on restocking to serve the Tet market with 3,500 breeding sows and over 4,000 market pigs for sale each month. The company has completed 70% of its revenue target for 2023 and is ‘activating’ solutions to maintain safety and stability in the production chain.”
At this time, the collective economic sector and cooperatives are also striving to increase revenue. Ms. Tuong Thi Van – Representative of Chien Thang Seafood Purchasing and Processing Cooperative (Ky Ninh commune, Ky Anh town) said: “We are participating in the 2023 trade promotion fair for the collective economic sector and cooperatives in the North in Hanoi with the hope of expanding connections and trade. This is an opportunity for us to connect with major distributors and supermarkets such as: Aeon supermarket system, Central Group, Winmart, Lotte, Vinaconexmart... At the same time, the cooperative is strengthening its channels for signing forward contracts and opening distribution agents with the expectation of rapid revenue growth in the last months of the year.”

According to the Department of Planning and Investment of Ha Tinh province, the province currently has more than 8,600 businesses and over 930 cooperatives in operation. Along with the efforts of businesses and cooperatives, the departments and agencies of Ha Tinh are also working together to organize activities supporting investment in science and technology in production, trade promotion, and market connections... to enhance product value.
Furthermore, interest rates on loans from commercial banks in the area have now decreased significantly, giving businesses and cooperatives access to "cheap" capital to invest in their production and business strategies.
