The achievement belongs to young fighter Trieu Thi Thu Thuy in the women's 45kg weight class (modern MMA). The weight class competes in a round-robin format to calculate the final result. In the final match, Trieu Thi Thu Thuy defeated her opponent Abbasnezhad Aylin (Iran). With this result, she was awarded the bronze medal. This is also the only medal of the Vietnamese MMA team at the tournament.
Previously, 3 boxers participating in the men's events, including: Nguyen Dinh Huy (65kg, traditional MMA), Lang Quoc Cuong (55kg, modern MMA), Vuong Tri Hai (50kg, modern MMA) stopped after the quarter-finals.

According to Ms. Tong Thi Ngoc Hoa - Deputy Secretary General and Chief of Office of the Vietnam Mixed Martial Arts Federation (VMMAF), "In their first appearance in the continental arena, our young athletes were unable to create a miracle. With Trieu Thu Thuy's bronze medal, the Vietnamese MMA delegation participating in the 2025 Asian Youth MMA Championship has completed the initial target of winning a medal in their first participation."

This is the first time the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Association has organized an Asian youth MMA tournament. The tournament is part of the host country Bahrain's preparation program before hosting the 2025 Asian Youth Games (AYG 2025) in October.
MMA is part of the official program of the AYG 2025 Congress, and is also an official competition at the 33rd SEA Games. The coaching board of the Vietnamese MMA team will select athletes to participate in AYG 2025 after the 2025 Youth Championship.
