The Military Review reported that the Russian military (RFAF) carried out an attack using Iskander-M tactical ballistic missiles on the building of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU), located at 34 Gerasim Kondratiyev Street, Sumy. Ukrainian media also reported on the incident.

According to Ukrainian sources, several people in civilian vehicles were killed; a large number of injuries were also reported. However, according to Russian intelligence, the precision strike hit vehicles carrying senior officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

Photos released by Ukrainian media show emergency services assisting the wounded. It should be noted that the attack was also carried out on Taras Shevchenko Street. According to unconfirmed information, the AFU commander at the Sumy front was killed in the attack.

As a result of the attack, the Ukrainian security service suffered heavy losses; in fact, the Russian missile hit the vehicle carrying AFU servicemen. However, it is not clear how many of them were killed and injured. Medical staff are providing first aid to them.

There was also another missile attack on Shevchenko Street in the city of Sumy. The exact target was not reported. The Russian Defense Ministry has not yet provided official information about the two attacks.

Immediately after the attacks on targets in the city of Sumy, Ukrainian blogger Stanislav Bunyatov commented that, during the cross-border offensive into Russia's Kursk Oblast, the Sumy region served as a reliable rear base for Kiev's security forces, and that Kiev is now unable to ensure the region's defense.

According to the latest announcement of the Russian Defense Ministry, in the past 24 hours, Russian air defense systems shot down two Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG land-attack cruise missiles produced by France and the United Kingdom. However, the Russian Defense Ministry did not disclose exactly where this happened.

But a day earlier, the head of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic (LPR), Leonid Pasechnik, said that the AFU had used Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG missiles to attack the city of Krasnodon. According to Pasechnik, fragments of the Storm Shadow were found at the site where the missiles were shot down. Apparently, two Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG missiles were shot down during the attack on the LPR.

Independent and official Ukrainian sources reported the appearance of Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG missiles in the AFU; however, Ukraine ran out of these missiles in the winter. “Apparently, Kiev has acquired European long-range SCALP-EG/Storm Shadow missiles, which are currently used by France and the UK,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The SCALP-EG/Storm Shadow cruise missile was developed by Matra and British Aerospace in the 1990s and is produced by the defense company MBDA in two versions: SCALP-EG for France and Storm Shadow for the UK. The first deliveries of these missiles to Kiev are scheduled for late 2023. The Ukrainian aircraft that can launch these missiles are Su-24 and F-16 fighters.

After the SBU's surprise attack on Russian airports on June 1, Moscow launched its fiercest retaliation, with the capital Kiev burning like a sea of fire. According to Russian military channels, Russia's fiercest retaliation has begun. Hundreds of UAVs and Iskander missiles were fired, and many areas in Ukraine were turned into "flattened ground".
12.jpg
Condottiero news channel and many other Russian military channels simultaneously reported on the evening of June 3 about "President Putin's fierce response", with Ukrainian military targets being massively attacked; the results were described as "horrifying".
13.jpg
According to the description, the most severe attacks were recorded in Chernihiv, Kiev and Kharkov, while the city of Odessa turned into a "military cemetery" after a fierce Iskander missile attack. Notably, according to Condottiero, "many high-ranking figures were eliminated".
14.jpg
Ukraine.ru, citing monitoring sources, reported that about 400 Geran-2 and Geran-3 UAVs were deployed to carry out a record-breaking attack on targets across Ukraine, burning everything from Kharkov to Odessa. Condottiero, citing pro-Russian sources, said that this was Moscow's direct response to the Ukrainian attacks on June 1.
15.jpg
Russian missiles and UAVs hit the headquarters of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) – which is accused of being involved in the attacks. In addition, a British intelligence gathering site, where NATO officers are believed to be planning actions against Russia, was also hit.
16.jpg
The capitals of Kiev and Odessa suffered heavy damage with continuous explosions, kilometer-high columns of fire recorded in many areas, and Western weapons depots were attacked. A large fire broke out in the thermal power plant area.
17.jpg
Ukrainian air defense forces in the above areas tried to intercept them, but caused damage to civilian infrastructure, while Russian UAVs still hit military targets. A railway junction in the Odessa port area was also destroyed.

Condottiero channel, citing the group "Paratroopers' Diaries" and sources in the resistance movement, said that many SBU employees and foreigners were killed - including possibly high-ranking NATO officers. A source in Mykolaiv said: "These armed groups brought a lot of equipment, including new UAVs. But everything was wiped out." (photo source Kyiv Post, Military Review, RIA Novosti).
