Hoang Huu Nam Road Project: 2km not completed after 9 years due to land acquisition issues

According to the People's Committee of Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City), the Hoang Huu Nam road project has a total length of 2km, connecting many important areas such as the new Eastern Bus Station, the Hanoi Highway intersection, and the Cancer Hospital's second facility…

The project was launched in June 2015, but was then temporarily suspended due to land acquisition issues. It restarted in 2023.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , the Thu Duc Area Investment and Construction Management Board (the investor) said that the units are actively mobilizing people to hand over the land and carrying out construction in a phased manner - working as soon as the land is available, striving to complete the project by April 30, 2025.

To date, construction is only over 60% complete. Specifically, the D400 and D13 sections of the road have been finished to serve the Oncology Hospital and the new Eastern Bus Station. The section on Hoang Huu Nam road is currently under construction in areas where residents have handed over their land.

100% of households in Long Thanh My and Tan Phu wards have agreed to receive compensation and hand over the land. The main land acquisition issue currently concerns 39 households within the city's Martyrs' Cemetery expansion project.

Therefore, the Land Compensation and Resettlement Board of the Thu Duc City People's Committee is intensifying efforts to persuade residents to hand over their land so that construction can be completed.

"We are prioritizing the areas where residents have already handed over land. There are some places where not all the land has been handed over, but there is enough land to build the road (not including sidewalks), so we can continue the work in the coming time. Everyone's spirit is to strive to complete and inaugurate the road by April 30, 2025," the representative said.
