Nearly 1.1 billion VND to help a particularly disadvantaged household

On July 3, the Lam Dong Association for the Support of Poor Patients, Disabled People and Orphans said it had mobilized nearly 1.1 billion VND to help a family in especially difficult circumstances in Hiep Thanh commune (Lam Dong).

Recent donation of more than 352 million VND from readers of Dan Tri Newspaper and Ai Tam Association of Lam Dong Association for the Support of Poor Patients - Disabled People and Orphans supported the construction of a charity house for Ms. Le Thi Tinh (in Hiep Thanh commune, Lam Dong province). Of which, Dan Tri Newspaper readers contributed more than 282 million VND and Ai Tam Association contributed 70 million VND, bringing the total amount mobilized by Lam Dong Association for the Support of Poor Patients - Disabled People and Orphans to help Ms. Tinh's family to nearly 1.1 billion VND.

Previously, in May 2025, the Lam Dong Association for the Support of Poor Patients - Disabled People and Orphans cooperated with the Aspiration to Live TV Program to present Ms. Le Thi Tinh's family with more than 790 million VND.

Ms. Tinh's family situation is particularly difficult. Ms. Tinh works as a hired hand to raise her 3 young children, her husband left home. Among them, the two twin sons are 7 years old and have hyperactivity due to pervasive developmental disorder and speech delay, autism; the eldest child is 13 years old and has thyroid cancer. The doctor has prescribed surgery and radiation therapy, but the family cannot afford the surgery. To maintain the life of the family with 3 sick children, Ms. Le Thi Tinh (39 years old) has to focus on taking care of her children, and at night she goes to the night market in Lien Nghia to help sell vegetables to earn a little money. With no place to live, the mother and her 4 children have to temporarily stay in her sister's temporary house; it is called a house but it is just a place to shelter from the rain and sun, patched up and madeshift for the past few years.

Mr. Nguyen Van Luc - Chairman of the Association said: This charity house is expected to be built on an area of ​​nearly 80 square meters and will be inaugurated in mid-August this year. This is the 150th charity house of Dan Tri Newspaper and the 380th house of the Association for the Support of Poor Patients - Disabled People and Orphans of Lam Dong Province, mobilizing donations to poor families in and outside the province.
