Pepper prices today (December 5) recorded a recovery trend after three consecutive days of decline, with a slight increase of 500 to 1,000 VND/kg in some localities. Common transaction prices ranged from 147,500 to 150,000 VND/kg.

The domestic pepper market has adjusted upward in the Central Highlands, bringing the price level back to a high level. Although the increase is not large, this development shows the market's recovery response.

Pepper exports set new record in value
According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), pepper export activities continue to record positive results. Despite the decrease in output, the export value still grew strongly thanks to the high average export price.
- November 2025 (estimated): Exports reach about 17 thousand tons, worth 110 million USD, up 7.6% in volume and 3.1% in value over the same period in 2024.
- Accumulated in 11 months of 2025: Exports reached 222 thousand tons, worth about 1.5 billion USD. Compared to the same period, output decreased by 5.5% but value increased sharply by 23.3%.
- Average export price: Reached 6,755 USD/ton in 11 months, up 30.5% over the same period.
With this result, the pepper export value in 11 months has exceeded the record of 1.43 billion USD of the whole year 2016, setting a new highest mark ever.
World pepper market developments
In the international market, pepper prices fluctuated in the most recent session. According to the International Pepper Community (IPC), prices in some major producing countries saw slight adjustments, while most remained stable.
- Indonesia: Lampung black pepper decreased by 0.09% to USD 6,998/ton; Muntok white pepper also decreased by 0.09% to USD 9,648/ton.
- Brazil: ASTA black pepper prices are stable at 6,150 – 6,250 USD/ton.
- Malaysia: Kuching ASTA black pepper remains at 9,000 – 9,200 USD/ton; ASTA white pepper at 12,000 – 12,300 USD/ton.
- Vietnam: Export prices remained stable with black pepper 500 g/l at 6,500 USD/ton, 550 g/l at 6,700 USD/ton; white pepper at 9,250 USD/ton.
In general, fluctuations in the world market have not had a strong impact on domestic pepper prices. Stable export demand and high export value are still the main supporting factors for the domestic market.
