On the evening of October 23, the Investigation Police Agency of Thu Dau Mot City Police ( Binh Duong ) announced that the unit was temporarily detaining Tran Huu Tien (22 years old, from Binh Phuoc) and Nguyen Minh Chien (22 years old, from Binh Duong) to investigate the act of illegal detention.
Police arrested Chien at the rented room.
According to case records, previously, Mr. TNT (20 years old, from Ca Mau ) owed Nguyen Minh Chien 6 million VND.
On October 20, Chien and Tien met Mr. T. in Phu Hoa 1 residential area (Phu Hoa ward, Thu Dau Mot city) and forced him to sign a loan paper and asked him to call a relative to bring money to pay the debt.
After forcing Mr. T. to sign a loan note, the two subjects took Mr. T. back to Chien's rented room in Phu Loi ward (Thu Dau Mot city) and locked the door.
Discovering the incident, Mr. T's family immediately reported it to the authorities.
Upon receiving the news, Thu Dau Mot City Police coordinated with Phu Loi Ward Police to organize a force to inspect Chien's rented room and discovered Mr. T. locked in the room. Mr. T. was then brought out safely.
