Reduce 7.5 thousand people receiving one-time social insurance

(DN) - On July 10, information from the Social Insurance (SI) region XXVIII (Dong Nai area), in the first 6 months of this year, the whole province had more than 30.9 thousand people receiving one-time social insurance benefits, a decrease of 7.5 thousand people compared to the same period last year.

In addition, the insurance agency has also resolved sickness, maternity, convalescence and health rehabilitation benefits for more than 762,900 people. The health insurance fund has paid for health insurance examination and treatment costs for more than 4.9 million people.

The number of people receiving one-time social insurance benefits has decreased compared to before, showing that workers have increasingly understood the advantages and benefits of participating in social insurance for 15 years according to the Social Insurance Law 2024.

Accordingly, the Social Insurance Law 2024, effective from July 1, 2025, has many new points related to employers, employees, and people; expanding and increasing rights and benefits, creating attractiveness to attract employees to participate in social insurance. At the same time, it ensures the best interests of employees and pensioners.

With the goal of serving participants and beneficiaries of social insurance policies better and better, recently, Social Insurance Region XXVIII held a conference to deploy the implementation of new points of the Social Insurance Law 2024 for officials working on social insurance regime settlement, collection and participant development.

Notable new points of the 2024 Social Insurance Law include: Paying social insurance for at least 15 years will be eligible for pension; Adding maternity benefits to the voluntary social insurance policy; expanding the subjects eligible for compulsory social insurance to business owners, part-time workers at the commune, village, and residential group levels, part-time workers, business managers, and cooperative managers who do not receive salaries.

In addition, the right to receive sick leave and maternity benefits for part-time workers at the commune level is supplemented; monthly allowances are supplemented for workers who are not eligible for pensions and are not old enough to receive social pensions; the age for receiving social pensions is reduced; and workers are encouraged to reserve their payment period to receive pensions instead of receiving social insurance in one lump sum. The law also devotes a chapter to regulating the management of social insurance collection and payment, clarifying the content and handling of late payment and evasion of social insurance payments, etc.
