Educating the young generation on ideals, ethics, and cultural lifestyle

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - After a decade of implementing Directive No. 42-CT/TW dated March 24, 2015 of the Secretariat "on strengthening the Party's leadership in educating revolutionary ideals, ethics, and cultural lifestyle for the young generation in the 2015-2030 period", our province has made a strong mark in the journey of accompanying, caring for, and developing the young generation.

Educating the young generation on ideals, ethics, and cultural lifestyle

The rough, moss-covered walls have been replaced by vibrant paintings depicting peaceful rural landscapes, created by youth union members.

Lighting up the dreams of our homeland.

The utility poles in Hoang Loc commune, once covered with countless advertising flyers, are now ablaze with vibrant colors. Hundreds of meters of murals depicting the "One Word Makes a Teacher" theme and stories of Trang Quynh have been meticulously painted by young people on the once old and peeling walls. This is not only about beautifying the countryside but also reflects the rich culture of this "village of doctors"—a place where 12 doctors from the feudal era are listed on the golden list of successful candidates in the imperial examinations.

This phenomenon has spread throughout the province's rural areas. Rough, moss-covered walls have been replaced with vibrant murals depicting peaceful village landscapes, expressions of love for the homeland's islands and seas, and messages about environmental protection and traffic safety. Many localities have implemented unique "mural roads" with the enthusiastic participation of thousands of youth union members and young people.

According to the summary report on 10 years of implementing Directive No. 42-CT/TW of the Provincial Party Committee, over the past 10 years, youth union branches at all levels in the province have mobilized union members and young people to participate in building more than 61,000 youth projects and tasks, with a value of over 300 billion VND, contributing thousands of man-days to volunteer activities for the community.

These figures are reflected in practical actions such as: providing free medical examinations and medicine to 45,980 poor people and families entitled to preferential policies; mobilizing 66,648 youth union members to register for voluntary blood donation, collecting 41,150 units of safe blood; mobilizing over 100,000 young volunteers to provide labor support to help people complete the winter-spring planting season; building 94 charitable houses, 8 beautiful schools for children, and 1 boarding house for children; donating 191,786 gifts to families entitled to preferential policies, poor households, and students with difficult circumstances worth 67.6 billion VND; repairing and upgrading 1,350km of roads; and dredging 900km of irrigation canals.

In addition, the younger generation in the province has actively implemented humanitarian initiatives such as: "Installing warning signs in dangerous deep water areas," "Rescue tires," and "Building mini swimming pools to prevent drowning," with 2,501 warning signs, 1,500 lifebuoys, and 15 mobile swimming pools. The model of "Renovating neglected gardens and developing household garden economies " in mountainous communes has contributed to increasing people's income.

This achievement is thanks to the attention paid to educating the younger generation about revolutionary ideals, ethics, and cultural lifestyles. Immediately after Directive No. 42-CT/TW was issued, the Provincial Party Standing Committee issued numerous documents to guide and direct its implementation. This implementation was linked to Directive No. 05-CT/TW on "promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's thought, ethics, and style," creating a strong ripple effect and making a significant contribution to educating revolutionary ideals, ethics, lifestyles, and inspiring aspirations for building the homeland among youth union members.

From these movements, many outstanding individuals have been selected for training and Party membership. Over the past 10 years, the entire province has recommended 28,450 outstanding youth union members to participate in Party awareness training courses, of which 24,771 outstanding youth union members have been admitted to the Party. Notably, the proportion of new Party members in the youth age group accounts for more than 70% of the total number of new Party members admitted.

Building a generation of young people with courage and ambition.

Currently, the province has over 1 million young people (aged 16-30), accounting for nearly 30% of the population and 50% of the province's workforce. This is a major resource contributing to the province's socio-economic development. Therefore, the province has identified key tasks for the period 2025-2030, with a vision to 2045, aiming to continue effectively supporting the younger generation. These include strengthening the leadership of Party committees at all levels, and the coordination between all levels, sectors, and the community in educating young people about revolutionary ideals, ethics, and cultural lifestyles. Simultaneously, the province will promote coordination between schools, families, and society in educating young people; emphasizing the role and responsibility of families in nurturing, educating, and protecting children and teenagers, working alongside schools to shape character and equip young people with the necessary knowledge and skills for comprehensive development. Effectively exploit and utilize modern media and scientific and technological achievements in the education of young people.

One of the important goals is to build a positive image of Thanh Hoa youth with core criteria and values for youth union members to aspire to, contributing to building a generation of young people with political acumen, law-abiding awareness, revolutionary ethics, and a beautiful lifestyle, rich in patriotism, with dreams, ambitions, and aspirations to build a prosperous and strong homeland. In particular, the province will pay attention to and have policies to reward young talents; exemplary individuals who do good deeds; and will have plans to nurture and train young talents to become experts in various fields, leading youth movements and activities.

After 10 years of implementing Directive No. 42-CT/TW, under the leadership of the Party, the younger generation in the province has undergone a strong transformation in awareness and action. From murals to tens of thousands of youth projects, these are vivid evidence, creating a solid foundation to continue nurturing a young generation with ideals and courage, ready to undertake the mission of building an increasingly prosperous homeland.
