On the morning of December 3rd, representatives from the Information and Communication Department of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in Ho Chi Minh City announced that the VBS and the International Organizing Committee for the 2025 United Nations Vesak Celebration in Vietnam (ICDV) have agreed on the official logo for the international event, scheduled to take place from May 6th to 9th, 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City.
The symbol is built upon the main message of the grand ceremony, Buddhism and the nation, incorporating elements of Vietnamese identity, geographical locations and the time of the event, expressed through images of lotus flowers, cranes, and motifs from the Dong Son bronze drums…

According to Venerable Thich Duc Thien, Vice President and General Secretary of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, and Vice President and General Secretary of ICDV, after careful consideration, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha unanimously agreed to approve the logo for the grand ceremony.
Previously, the Church also launched a competition to design a logo for the 4th United Nations Vesak Celebration held in Vietnam and the first time in Ho Chi Minh City to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country.
The organizing committee judged and awarded prizes according to regulations; however, the winning entries, including the first prize winner, were not necessarily chosen as the logo for the grand ceremony.

On September 30th, the Church issued a document announcing the main theme of the grand ceremony as "Unity and Inclusivity for Human Dignity: Buddhist Insights for World Peace and Sustainable Development".
Along with that are five sub-themes, including Cultivating Inner Peace for World Peace, Forgiveness and Healing Through Mindfulness: The Path to Reconciliation, Buddhist Compassion in Action: Shared Responsibility for Human Development, Mindfulness in Education for a Compassionate and Sustainable Future, and Promoting Solidarity: Working Together for Global Harmony.
