Hanoi's GRDP in 9 months increased by 7.92%, higher than the same period last year

In the first 9 months of 2025, the city's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) is estimated to increase by 7.92% over the same period last year, higher than the increase in the same period in 2024.

On October 3, Hanoi City Statistics Office announced the report on socio -economic situation in the third quarter and 9 months of 2025.

GRDP in the third quarter of 2025 is estimated to increase by 8.2% over the same period last year. Of which, the service sector increased by 8.83%; the industry and construction sector increased by 7.35%; the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 3.89%; product taxes minus product subsidies increased by 6.62%.

The service sector accounts for a large proportion of the economy, continuing to be a bright spot with high growth (8.83%), contributing 5.86 percentage points to the GRDP growth in the third quarter of this year. The industrial and construction sector increased by 7.35% over the same period last year, contributing 1.59 percentage points to the GRDP growth.

In the first 9 months of 2025, the city's GRDP is estimated to increase by 7.92% over the same period last year (the first quarter increased by 7.52%; the second quarter increased by 8%; the third quarter increased by 8.2%). This increase is higher than the same period last year (6.33%) with an improving trend over each quarter.

The service sector's growth in the first nine months of 2025 is the mainstay of the economy, with added value estimated to increase by 8.74% over the same period last year (first quarter increased by 8.58%; second quarter increased by 8.80%; third quarter increased by 8.83%), contributing 5.92 percentage points to GRDP growth.

Of which, arts, entertainment and recreation activities increased by 13.38%, contributing 0.08 percentage points; administration and support services increased by 12.81%, contributing 0.5 percentage points; activities of the Communist Party, political and social organizations, state management, national security and defense increased by 12.05%, contributing 0.17 percentage points; transportation and warehousing increased by 11.65%, contributing 0.96 percentage points; education and training increased by 11.51%, contributing 0.44 percentage points to the overall increase; accommodation and catering services increased by 9.44%, contributing 0.16 percentage points; wholesale and retail increased by 9.13%, contributing 0.94 percentage points...

The industrial and construction sector is estimated to increase by 7.03%, contributing 1.39 percentage points to the GRDP growth. The industry is affected by the world situation, especially in the third quarter when the US tariff policy adjustment caused certain difficulties for industrial processing and manufacturing enterprises, with an estimated value increase of 6.99%, contributing 0.89 points. The construction sector is estimated to increase by 7.11%, contributing 0.51 points to the overall growth.

The agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 3.43% over the same period in 2024 (first quarter increased by 3.34%; second quarter increased by 3.18%; third quarter increased by 3.89%), contributing 0.07 percentage points to GRDP growth.

Product taxes minus product subsidies increased by 5.17%, accounting for 0.55 percentage points of the overall GRDP increase.

The structure of GRDP in the first 9 months of 2025 at current prices is that the service sector accounts for a large proportion of 67.65%; the industry and construction sector accounts for 20.53%; the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector accounts for 1.92%; product taxes minus product subsidies account for 9.90%.

The GRDP structure for the first 9 months of 2024 is 66.88%; 20.95%; 1.99% and 10.18% respectively.
