Tonight, June 30, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training announced the entrance exam scores for grade 10 public high schools next school year. Thus, compared to the original plan, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training announced the exam scores earlier (the original plan was to announce the entrance exam scores for grade 10 no later than July 4).

Hanoi plans to announce 10th grade admission scores earlier than originally planned.

Speaking with Thanh Nien reporter, Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of Hanoi Department of Education and Training, said that after announcing the exam scores, Hanoi Department of Education and Training will meet and approve the admission scores for grade 10 of public high schools for the 2023-2024 school year.

"According to the announced plan, the benchmark scores will be announced on July 8 and 9. However, because the exam scores will be announced early, the department will also try to meet, review and announce the benchmark scores earlier than expected to meet the expectations of students and parents," said Mr. Cuong.

The whole city has nearly 105,000 students taking the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year. As the locality with the largest number of students taking the 10th grade entrance exam in the country, Hanoi is always under a lot of pressure during this exam.

Many teachers believe that the benchmark score will still be a matter of concern for this year's exam. Although there will not be any major changes, this year there will be some differences compared to last year.

Specifically, this year's 9th graders will be studying directly all the time instead of having to study online like last year, so the quality of students taking the exam this year may be higher. In addition, this year's quota for public high schools is lower than in recent years, and the "competition" rate is too high in some schools considered "lower" which may also affect the benchmark score.

According to regulations of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, after knowing the exam scores and admission scores, admitted students must complete the admission confirmation procedure and print the admission confirmation to submit with the application when enrolling.

It is expected that from July 10 to 12, public high schools will organize admission confirmation for admitted students online and in person. During this time, if students voluntarily submit their admission application, the schools will facilitate the examination and acceptance according to the instructions.

However, for the remaining types of schools (including self-financed public high schools, private schools, vocationaleducation - continuing education centers), students only need to carry out the admission confirmation procedure directly.

In order to facilitate students, the Department of Education and Training requires that during the enrollment period, if students wish and voluntarily submit their enrollment application directly, schools will create conditions to receive students' enrollment applications in accordance with regulations.
