Specifically, in March 2024, Hanoi's tourism industry welcomed 2.26 million visitors, an increase of 7.1% (compared to the same period in 2023), of which international tourists reached 468,000, an increase of 12.6%. Domestic tourists alone reached 1.798 million, an increase of 5.8%. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at 8,740 billion VND, an increase of 9%.
In the first three months of 2024, Hanoi's tourism sector welcomed 6.54 million visitors, an increase of 10.9%. Of these, international tourists accounted for an estimated 1.4 million, a 40% increase compared to the same period in 2023, while domestic tourists reached 5.14 million, a 5% increase. Total revenue from tourism reached VND 25,487 billion, a 17.8% increase.

According to Dang Huong Giang, Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in 2024, Hanoi's tourism sector will focus on promoting cultural and heritage values associated with tourism, building the image of Hanoi as a "Cultural - Civilized - Modern" city, a "City for Peace, " and a "Creative City." Hanoi will develop distinctive and attractive tourism products based on its existing advantages, while also researching and investing in the development of new product types linked to the advantages of each locality, such as: exploiting inland waterway tourism routes along the Red River, West Lake, and Dong Mo Lake; developing agricultural tourism, experiential tourism, and sports tourism...
Following the introduction of 16 unique Hanoi night tours, the capital's tourism industry is planning to expand night tours to the outskirts of Hanoi. Two proposed night tourism products for the outskirts of Hanoi are: a model featuring cultural and artistic performances, shopping, nighttime entertainment, and the introduction of culinary culture and nighttime dining services in Dong Xuan commune (Quoc Oai district); and a model showcasing the culinary culture of Van Dinh - the incense-making village of Quang Phu Cau commune, at the Van Dinh town commercial center (My Duc district) and Quang Phu Cau commune (Ung Hoa district).
Approximately 2 million international tourists visited Hanoi in the first three months of the year.
Hanoi is focusing on organizing events, programs, and festivals to promote tourism in the capital city, such as the Hanoi Tourism Festival 2024; the announcement ceremony for the "Community-Based Tourism in Ba Vi Commune, Ba Vi District" product; and the "Happy Tet 2024" program. With the contributions of many reputable organizations such as the Vietnam Kite Heritage Center, Hanoi Beer, Wine and Beverage Corporation, the Vietnam Ao Dai Club, the Royal Chefs Association, and the Vietnam Chefs Association, these initiatives have contributed to the success of Hanoi's tourism in the first months of the year. This aims to achieve the target of welcoming 27 million tourists to Hanoi in 2024, including 5.5 million international visitors; and achieving total tourism revenue of 109.41 trillion VND.
