The Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection (Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hai Duong ) has just organized a training course on technical measures to kill rats to protect agricultural production for representatives of agricultural service cooperatives and rat extermination teams of communes, wards and towns in the province.
Students were instructed on some main rat extermination measures such as field sanitation and cultivation, manual rat extermination, biological and chemical rat extermination. The effectiveness of concentrated rat extermination measures and the role of rat extermination teams were emphasized.
Neighboring communes, wards and towns should proactively coordinate to implement together. Exterminate rats in all places, from fields to abandoned areas, mounds, converted gardens, residential areas... Places with agencies, companies, factories, farms need unity between local authorities and these units to simultaneously organize rat extermination in concentrated rat extermination campaigns. When exterminating rats, it is necessary to apply synchronous measures, including increasing rat extermination by manual methods. Protect cats and encourage people to raise cats to exterminate rats.
In 2024, Hai Duong will organize 8 simultaneous rat extermination campaigns in all localities, on a total area of 139,335 hectares. Particularly for the first phase (winter-spring rice planting) and the fourth phase (summer-autumn rice planting), in addition to applying manual measures, localities must simultaneously exterminate rats with chemicals (bait) on the entire crop area in the fields.
