After more than half a year of construction, the Vinhomes Green Paradise coastal tourism urban area in Can Gio commune (HCMC), invested by Vingroup , has nearly completed the sea reclamation phase, marking an important step forward for one of the largest infrastructure - tourism projects in the South. The project has a total area of 2,870 hectares, started on April 19, and is currently entering the stage of completing the foundation and building technical infrastructure.

Can Gio changes every day

At the "ESG++ Super City" seminar held in Can Gio commune on October 23, Vingroup representative said that Vinhomes Green Paradise is positioned as an ESG++ super city, an expanded model of ESG with 2 new factors RR (Regeneration, Resilience), aiming for " The world's leading Green - Smart - Ecological - Regenerative City".

According to Ms. Phan Thien Ly, Sales Director of Vinhomes project, it is expected that phase 1 (filling the foundation and preventing erosion) will be completed by November. Also during this time, the investor will start construction of the golf course, theater, amusement park and low-rise housing area, expected to be completed within 12 months. By 2027, the first houses will be handed over.

To increase connectivity, Vingroup will initially sponsor three 200-ton ferries serving the Binh Khanh - Can Gio route and bear all operating costs. When the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway is completed, the urban area will easily connect to Long Thanh international airport via National Highway 51. At the same time, the enterprise is coordinating to speed up the progress of the Ho Chi Minh City - Can Gio high-speed railway, aiming to turn this place into a "green gateway" of the city.

Speaking more about the sea reclamation process, Vingroup representative said that the project has applied modern sandblasting technology combined with the principle of excavation - filling balance, meaning that the filling material is taken right within the planning area to fill the mainland, minimizing environmental impact and saving resources. This is a technology that has been proven in many large projects in the world, such as Palm Jumeirah in Dubai - United Arab Emirates or port expansion projects in Asia, now adjusted to suit the geological characteristics of Can Gio.

Speaking at the seminar, Ms. Vo Thi Diem Phuong, Vice Chairwoman of Can Gio Commune People's Committee, said that since Vingroup implemented the Vinhomes Green Paradise coastal urban tourism project, Can Gio's appearance has changed every day.

The project not only creates new development momentum for the southernmost area of Ho Chi Minh City but also opens up a series of job opportunities, promotes trade and services and improves people's lives. From a land that used to be quiet, Can Gio is now transforming strongly with synchronous infrastructure, connected traffic and large investment capital flows.

Local people also feel the change clearly. Ms. Tran Thi The, who has lived in Can Gio for more than 20 years, shared: "We hope to soon have a bridge and metro line to attract more tourists." Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Huong said that at first many people were worried, but now they are reassured because Vingroup creates stable jobs, better income and significantly improves spiritual life.

International class

Since its launch, Vinhomes Green Paradise has attracted special attention from experts, as this is the pioneering project in Vietnam applying the international green building standard BREEAM (UK) - a set of standards established in 1990, considered the leading measure of sustainable urban development.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Thu, representative of GreenViet Green Building Consulting Co., Ltd., said that the project strictly adheres to ESG (Environment - Social - Governance) principles, aiming at harmony between infrastructure development and conservation of the Can Gio mangrove ecosystem.

"BREEAM not only measures energy efficiency but also comprehensively evaluates everything from planning, living environment, construction materials to public health - something that Vinhomes Green Paradise is doing in the spirit of sustainable development," said Ms. Thu.

In the world, many urban areas that meet ESG standards such as Hammarby Sjostad (Sweden) or Porta Nuova (Italy) have proven that green development models can both improve the quality of life and increase real estate value. Vinhomes Green Paradise is expected to create a new standard for coastal urban planning.

Architect Khuong Van Muoi, former Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Architects, commented: "If implemented as committed, this will be a project that sets new urban development standards for Vietnam. Previously, Ho Chi Minh City had Phu My Hung or Sala Thu Thiem paving the way for modern urban models; now Vinhomes Green Paradise can continue, creating a harmonious living standard between nature - culture - people, becoming a new symbol of the city."

In response to concerns about environmental impacts, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Van Song, Principal of Eastern University of Technology, affirmed that the project has been thoroughly researched by leading domestic and foreign experts.

"The socio-economic benefits that the project brings are much greater, and more importantly, it is a boost for Vietnam to break out, escape the middle-income trap, and raise the status of regional tourism and finance," he said.

According to Mr. Song, Vietnam needs to boldly invest in pioneering projects of international scale and class, because if it only focuses on old models, the economy will find it difficult to compete with major tourist centers such as Singapore or Bangkok (Thailand). Applying international ESG standards will help Vinhomes Green Paradise become a model for a modern coastal urban area, both preserving local identity and opening up green and prosperous living spaces.

From a market perspective, Mr. Dinh Minh Tuan, Director of Batdongsan.com.vn in the Southern region, said that "Vinhomes Green Paradise's customer base is people who truly understand the value of quality of life." They are not only looking for a place to live but also want to become residents in a civilized community where people contribute to creating a sustainable lifestyle.

Ms. Phan Thien Ly added that Vinhomes' three previous projects in Ho Chi Minh City, such as Central Park, Ba Son and Grand Park, all recorded a price increase of 3-5 times after handover. In particular, she emphasized that Vingroup made a lifetime commitment in the sales contract: If there is a subsidence phenomenon, the group will directly maintain and repair it at its own expense. "This is not only a technical commitment but also a guarantee of trust, sustainability and long-term value of the project," she added.

Inspiring the elderly

A few days ago, Vingroup officially announced the launch of Vin New Horizon - the first high-end retirement urban and service chain in Vietnam according to international standards. This is considered a new strategic pillar in the Vingroup ecosystem, pioneering the creation of a "Horizon of Happiness" for the global golden age generation - where the elderly are inspired to live healthy, happy and useful lives, continuing a valuable journey in every moment.

It is expected that Vin New Horizon will be deployed in many localities across the country, of which Vinhomes Green Paradise Can Gio will be the first urban area, forming a high-class retirement community in the heart of the "World's leading ESG++ City", opening up a new standard of living for the golden generation of Vietnam.

Each urban area has a scale of 20 to 50 hectares, fully integrating facilities for residence, resort, healthcare, education and culture - entertainment, providing a complete and positive living environment for the elderly.
