Support for the price of seedlings to preserve the national treasure Ngoc Linh ginseng

On October 17, the Office of the People's Committee of Da Nang City informed that the People's Committee of the city has just issued Decision 2033/QD-UBND approving the unit price of 1-year-old Ngoc Linh ginseng seedlings in 2025.

This decision aims to continue implementing the mechanism to encourage the conservation and development of Ngoc Linh ginseng and other medicinal plants in accordance with Resolution No. 09/2022/NQ-HĐND dated April 21, 2022, on the Regulations on the mechanism to encourage the conservation and development of Ngoc Linh ginseng and other medicinal plants of the People's Council of Quang Nam province (formerly).

According to the Decision, the unit price for one-year-old Ngoc Linh ginseng seedlings supplied by the Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Medicinal Herbs Development Center for the year 2025 is approved at 155,000 VND/plant. This price is applied to support the correct beneficiaries as per orders from the People's Committees of Tra Linh, Nam Tra My, Tra Leng, and Tra Tap communes (formerly part of Nam Tra My district).

The Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Medicinal Herb Development Center is responsible for supplying seedlings at approved prices and complying with financial management regulations under Decree No. 60/2021/ND-CP (amended and supplemented by Decree No. 111/2025/ND-CP) and regulations on invoices and documents. Currently, the center is cultivating approximately 11 hectares of Ngoc Linh ginseng and producing over 200,000 ginseng seedlings annually.
The People's Committees of Tra Tap, Tra Linh, Tra Leng, and Nam Tra My communes (the ordering units) will coordinate with the Center to carry out related procedures such as ordering decisions and ordering contracts. Specifically, the communes are responsible for collecting the 20% matching funds from the people and transferring them along with the 80% state budget support to the Ngoc Linh ginseng seed supplier.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment provides guidance, direction, and supervision of seedling supply and the management of the center's revenue and expenditure. The Department of Finance is responsible for monitoring and guiding the units in implementing the regulations in accordance with current State regulations.

Providing price support for seedlings is an effort by Da Nang city to preserve and develop the rare genetic resources of Ngoc Linh ginseng, a national treasure, thereby contributing to socio -economic development in mountainous areas.
