Miss Thien An: I am serious about my role as an actress

Taking on the female lead role for the first time in the Tet movie “Billion Dollar Kiss”, Thien An was under a lot of pressure. However, the beauty born in 2000 always affirmed her seriousness in pursuing the acting field.

Entering the film industry is a new experience for Thien An. Will this just be a walk in the park or a serious investment for Thien An in the film industry?

- This is also what the team asked when discussing my new direction in the coming years. I answered very seriously that I want to develop myself in the field of film, as it is a long-term path that I feel I am suited for and want to pursue. I hope that the audience will love and support me in my upcoming roles.

Entering the acting field, Thien An had to face compliments and criticisms as well as the prejudice of "beauty queen acting". Did you foresee this and how did you prepare yourself to face it?

- Actually not only with Misses, runners-up, and beauties have a prejudice that anyone who decides to pursue a dream that no one has ever seen them perform in that field will face a certain amount of doubt.

I think this is perfectly normal and obvious. So why don't we give those who are trying out a new field for the first time a chance to "try it out," right? Therefore, I hope everyone won't be too harsh on someone's journey to achieving their dreams.

For An, acting is a new field that he wants to pursue. An is very attentive and serious about this field, so he is open to all constructive comments from the audience. These comments will motivate An to be more thoughtful in his upcoming roles.

For you, is being a beauty queen harder or being an actress harder?

- I don't think it's possible to determine which is more difficult because each role has its own challenges and each challenge is helping Doan Thien An to become more mature and diversify himself more in the art field.

If you were a complete newcomer, the audience might criticize you, but being a beauty queen seems to be scrutinized even more. Do you think that the title is sometimes a “barrier”?

- I think that Miss Grand Vietnam 2022 remains a precious title that helps me get closer to the audience, spread many good things, and become a better person. So I don't see what's coming my way as difficulties; instead, I see them as challenges I need to face, as opportunities for me to strive to prove my abilities. When you are strong, confident, and courageous enough, there will be a way to overcome any difficulty.

When you started your acting career, did you have any ambitions for yourself? For example, would you like to be remembered as actress Thien An instead of beauty queen Thien An?

- I know that I still have many shortcomings to be able to call myself a real actor, but with my love for this field, I hope the audience can see me as a potential seed and make efforts to contribute to the country's cinema industry.

In the distant future, I hope to be able to transform my passion and thirst for learning into professionalism and be remembered as a true actress. I won't use the word "replace," but rather "parallel." Parallel to my role as Miss Doan Thien An, I hope you will also remember another role of mine: that of an actress.

Can you share your plans for the new year 2025?

- An plans to continue exploring herself through acting roles in 2025. cinema new. In addition, An will continue to maintain the community projects that she has been pursuing and nurturing.
