Conference on deploying the work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army in 2026

On the afternoon of October 28, at the Provincial Conference Center, the Provincial Military Service Council (NVQS) held an (expanded) conference to evaluate the results of the selection and call-up of citizens for military service in 2025, and deploy military recruitment work in 2026.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Huy Ngoc emphasized: This 2025 Provincial Military Service Council Conference is the first meeting after the merger of the two provinces. The Conference not only summarizes and evaluates what has been done and what has not been done in the work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army in 2025, but also discusses and agrees on the method of organizing the work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army in 2026 according to the operating mechanism of the 2-level local government and the organizational model of the new Military and Public Security after the arrangement and merger.

The Commander of the Provincial Military Command chaired the discussion at the conference.

According to the report of the Provincial Military Service Council, the military recruitment work in 2025 has received attention and direction from Party committees, authorities, and Military Service Councils at all levels. Military agencies at all levels have promoted their advisory role, closely coordinated with local departments, branches, and socio-political organizations, and seriously implemented decisions, directives, and instructions on military recruitment work in accordance with the procedures and steps to ensure publicity, fairness, democracy, and compliance with the Law. Completed 100% of the targets of superiors recruiting citizens to perform military service and join the People's Public Security (2,150 military, 488 police), ensuring absolute safety.

Provincial Police leaders reported on the results of military recruitment in 2025 and the direction and tasks for 2026.

In 2026, Tuyen Quang province was assigned to select and call 2,849 citizens to join the army. Of which, 2,300 citizens will perform military service, 549 citizens will join the People's Public Security service.

At the Conference, the Provincial Military Service Council approved the Draft Decision on assigning tasks to members of the Provincial Military Service Council; decided to assign targets for selecting citizens to join the Military Service and the People's Public Security in 2026 for communes and wards in the province. Delegates discussed the advantages and difficulties in military recruitment and preparation for the military handover in 2026; proposed solutions on accommodation, food, and vehicle arrangements before and during the military handover ceremony; agreed on targets and ensured the completion of assigned targets.

Concluding the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Huy Ngoc, Chairman of the Provincial Military Service Council, requested departments, branches, organizations and localities to continue promoting propaganda and education on military service, obligations to join the People's Public Security, promoting homeland traditions and civic responsibility to the Fatherland.

Ensure that the military recruitment is "complete, each person recruited is guaranteed", minimize compensation; clearly assign responsibility to each member of the Military Service Council. Reform administration, apply information technology in resource management, create citizen records; reduce procedures, avoid causing trouble and affecting citizens. Implement well the military rear policy; promptly encourage and support families with citizens joining the army; pay attention to receiving and introducing jobs for discharged soldiers. Timely commend and reward groups and individuals and prevent and stop negativity and harassment in military recruitment.

The Chairman of the Provincial Military Service Council requested: The Military Command and the Provincial Police coordinate to direct the Military Command, the Commune and Ward Police to coordinate with departments, agencies, branches and organizations to carry out military recruitment work, ensuring that each locality completes the assigned targets; grasp the political quality of citizens of military age to review political standards; coordinate with the People's Committee at the commune level to coordinate with the military receiving unit, strictly manage citizens ready to join the army, strictly handle violations; coordinate with the military receiving units to inspect all vehicles serving to transport and receive new recruits, ensure absolute safety, strictly comply with the Law on Road Traffic Safety; advise on the good organization of the military handover ceremony at the military handover points, ensuring solemnity, safety and compliance with regulations...
