Today (December 8): Pepper prices increased slightly

Agricultural news today (December 8): Domestic coffee prices today are stable compared to yesterday, currently fluctuating from 103,300 to 104,000 VND/kg; meanwhile, pepper prices increased slightly, up 500 VND/kg, currently at 149,000 VND/kg.

* Domestic coffee prices today are stable compared to yesterday, currently fluctuating from 103,300 to 104,000 VND/kg. In Lam Dong, the three areas of Di Linh, Bao Loc and Lam Ha, today's coffee price is 103,300 VND/kg; in Dak Lak , Cu M'gar district buys coffee at 104,000 VND/kg; in Ea H'leo and Buon Ho, transactions are around 103,900 VND/kg.

In Dak Nong, coffee price today is at 103,900 VND/kg; in Gia Lai, Chu Prong area is traded at 103,600 VND/kg, and in Pleiku and Ia Grai at 103,500 VND/kg.

Although unchanged during the day, the Central Highlands coffee market closed the week in a sharp decline. Compared to last week, coffee prices fell from 8,000 to 8,500 VND/kg, with the deepest decline recorded in Dak Nong. Lam Dong fell 8,000 VND/kg, while Gia Lai and Dak Lak fell by about 8,300 VND/kg. This development reflects pressure from the harvest entering its peak period and the rapid increase in supply according to the season.

In the world market, coffee prices tend to increase slightly after many sessions of mixed fluctuations. On the London exchange, robusta futures for January 2026 increased to 4,331 USD/ton, while those for March 2026 were traded at 4,244 USD/ton. On the New York exchange, arabica also increased to 409.2 cents/lb for the December 2025 term and 376.15 cents/lb for the March 2026 term.

* Domestic pepper prices increased slightly today, up 500 VND/kg, currently at 149,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, pepper prices in Dak Lak and Dak Nong increased by 500 VND/kg, to 149,000 VND/kg; in Gia Lai, Chu Se area also recorded a similar increase, trading at 147,500 VND/kg; in the Southeast, Binh Phuoc increased to 148,000 VND/kg, while Ba Ria - Vung Tau remained at 147,500 VND/kg.

In the international market, pepper prices continue to be stable. Specifically, IPC recorded the price of Lampung black pepper (Indonesia) at 6,995 USD/ton, while Muntok white pepper reached 9,643 USD/ton. Brazil and Malaysia also maintained high prices, creating great support for the Vietnamese market. Vietnamese black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l is trading around 6,500 - 6,700 USD/ton; white pepper at 9,250 USD/ton, maintaining a competitive advantage in both quality and export value.
