Many tears of sympathy were silently shed during the introduction of Ms. Phuong's (35 years old) story. She was once a hardworking wife and a strong, resilient mother, dedicated to providing her children with an education. However, cruel illness shattered the small dreams of this impoverished family. In March 2025, Ms. Phuong was diagnosed with cervical cancer. This was followed by complications including a heart attack and pulmonary embolism, causing her health to deteriorate rapidly. Lacking the funds for hospitalization, she was forced to return home to endure the prolonged pain.

The burden of providing for his family and paying for his wife's medication falls entirely on the frail shoulders of Mr. Ly Minh Hieu. Harsh circumstances have forced his eldest son, only 14 years old, to drop out of school and work alongside his father tapping rubber trees. The future of his two younger children, aged 10 and 3, also looks bleak in their dilapidated charity home.

“Witnessing Ms. Phuong's situation, we deeply understand that health is a precious asset, and human kindness is an invaluable spiritual medicine,” – immediately after the program organizers' speech, sponsors, co-sponsors, businesses, clubs, and charitable groups from within and outside the province successively presented their support to Ms. Phuong's family. The total amount of support reached 151.66 million VND. Of this, 41.66 million VND helped Ms. Phuong prepare for her first radiotherapy session. The remaining 110 million VND was deposited into a savings account under Mr. Hieu's name and entrusted to the local authorities for long-term treatment for Ms. Phuong and the education of her children.

The most touching moment was when Ms. Phuong shed tears of gratitude to the program and benefactors: “In our time of greatest pain and despair, my family received the loving embrace of kind hearts, along with valuable gifts both materially and spiritually. This is a great source of encouragement for me to have more strength to fight the disease, preserve my life, and secure a future for my children's education. I am deeply grateful and appreciative.”

Sponsors, clubs, and volunteer groups successively presented financial support, giving Ms. Phuong's family renewed faith and hope to overcome adversity. Photo: Phu Quy
