Press conference of the program "Vietnam - Laos Special Friendship Day 2023" in Thua Thien Hue

2023 marks the 61st anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations. The Vietnam-Laos relationship has become a symbol of special friendship. The political relationship between the two Parties and the two States is increasingly close and trustworthy, serving as a solid foundation for cooperation in all fields. Cooperation in the field of information and communications is one of the bright spots in the relationship between the two countries. In recent years, large Vietnamese telecommunications and information technology corporations have invested tens of millions of US dollars, contributing to making Laos one of the countries with the best 4G coverage and speed in Southeast Asia. In January 2023, the Government of Vietnam and the Government of Laos signed a Digital Partnership Agreement. The signing of the Agreement between the two Governments on digital partnership affirms the top priority of both sides in expanding cooperation in the field of digital services and technology, digital transformation, contributing to further strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. In the field of journalism, Vietnam regularly exchanges delegations at all levels, press delegations of the two countries; exchanges radio, television programs, publications; promotes press agencies of the two countries to cooperate in information, share experiences, and provide technical support. With the theme "Information and communication, a highlight in the Vietnam - Laos cooperation relationship", from November 11-15, 2023, the Ministry of Information and Communications in coordination with the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province organized the Vietnam - Laos Special Friendship Festival 2023. This is an opportunity for the two countries to affirm the importance, significance and seek new opportunities in cooperation in information and communication. At the same time, promote the image of Vietnam in innovation and development, thereby consolidating the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
