Candidates are worried that they will not be considered for admission if they do not complete all the steps.

This year, candidates applying for the first round of university admissions had 20 days to register and adjust their preferences on the Ministry's online admissions system.

From July 10th to 30th, candidates, regardless of whether they have already been conditionally admitted through early admission methods at universities, can register on this system with no limit on the number of preferences and can adjust them an unlimited number of times. After this period, the Ministry's admissions system will lock the registration and preference adjustment functions so that candidates can continue to pay the application fee and complete the preference confirmation process. However, at this point, many parents and candidates are expressing concern due to missing one registration step on this online system.

TPN (residing in Ho Chi Minh City) stated that she had registered for admission to the Interior Design and Architecture majors at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education and Ton Duc Thang University. Previously, she had taken the aptitude test to obtain results for admission to these majors. However, during registration on the Ministry's system, she did not check the box "Other admission data." Only now does she realize this is a necessary step if applying based on aptitude test scores. "I went to the university to submit my application but it was not accepted, so I sent it to the Ministry of Education and Training. I am very worried that not performing this step will affect my application results," she said.

From a Facebook forum, many parents have compiled a list of cases where candidates, due to forgetfulness or lack of awareness, failed to check the box above. These parents plan to submit a petition to the Ministry of Education and Training to reopen the software so that candidates have the opportunity to correct the information or receive an official answer on this matter. The list currently includes nearly 150 cases, registered for admission to various universities but all without checking the "Other admission data" option.

Speaking on behalf of a university that uses aptitude test scores and international English certificates in this year's admissions process, Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, Head of the Training Department at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, explained: "Even if candidates don't check the 'Other admission data' box, they will still be considered because this score data has already been updated by the universities to the common system. Of course, candidates must register for the correct major and nguyện vọng (preference) that includes this data and follow the correct steps to confirm their nguyện vọng as required."

Regarding this issue, in an interview with Thanh Nien Newspaper, a representative from the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training) stated that if candidates have taken the aptitude test as required by the university, registered for the correct major, and the university has entered this aptitude test into the Ministry of Education and Training's system, then there is no need to worry. The aptitude test results of the candidates are updated by the universities into the system, and the universities will use that data to consider the candidates for admission.
