Urgent evacuation of people in flooded areas of Bac Ninh

Due to the impact of storms No. 10 and No. 11, Bac Ninh province has had heavy rains and rising floodwaters, threatening the safety of dikes, people's lives and property. With the spirit of "serving the people", the Bac Ninh Provincial Military has taken the lead in storm and flood prevention.

According to the report of the Military Command of Bac Ninh province, as of 1:00 p.m. on October 9, 2025, Bac Ninh province has handled the areas of broken dikes in Tien Luc commune, flooding in Yen The and Bo Ha communes, and dike overflows in the areas of Viet Yen, Tan Yen and some other areas.

However, there are still many complicated areas in the province. Specifically, Hop Thinh commune: Cau river dike is about 20 km long, about 6 km of it has overflowed, 3 km of the water has been built to prevent the overflow of the dangerous dike; 2 landslide points (25m and 75m) have been covered with tarpaulins. In Xuan Cam commune: Cau river dike is about 19 km long, 10 points have overflowed, 6 points have been built to prevent the overflow, the other points are being handled.

In Tam Giang commune, the water level rose, there was a risk of the dike overflowing. The forces built a bank to prevent overflow and are currently handling the leakage of the Vong Nguyet culvert. In Hoang Van commune, 18 out of 43 villages were flooded and people are being assisted in moving to safety.

In Da Mai ward, the water level rose, the dike was at risk of overflowing, and 496 households with 1,967 people had to be evacuated. In Bo Ha commune, there was localized flooding, and the military coordinated with local forces to help move people and property to a safe location. Currently, the local authorities are supplying food and overcoming the consequences.

Faced with that situation, the Military Command of Bac Ninh province proactively mobilized forces to key areas, coordinated with local Party committees, authorities and militia forces to organize rescue, reinforce dikes, move assets, and help people overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

According to the plan, a group of officers and employees stayed at the agency to perform staff duties, synthesize, and coordinate forces in all directions, ensuring information and smooth command; the majority of the remaining forces went on duty. At key points, officers and employees of the agency, together with militia and people, built sacks of earth, reinforced dikes, transported supplies, and supported the relocation of assets... Everything was urgent, rhythmic, disciplined, and imbued with the affection between the army and the people.

During the day, over 27,000 people participated, including 1,107 officers and soldiers of the Provincial Military Command; 2,198 coordinated units; 7,864 militia and self-defense comrades and over 6,000 shock troops. Along with the human resource arrangement, the Bac Ninh Provincial Military Command arranged means to handle the situation with 16 vehicles of various types; 7 boats and rescue equipment.

Along with the forces of the Provincial Military Command, the forces of the Army units stationed in the area also actively participated in the work of preventing, fighting and responding to storms and floods with nearly 2,000 comrades and many vehicles were also mobilized, to support the government in flood prevention, handling dike incidents, rescue, supporting people to get to safety and providing food.
