On the morning of August 14, Mr. Nguyen Dac Phuong - Head of the Culture - Social Committee of the Provincial People's Council, as head of the delegation, visited and surveyed the implementation results of Resolution No. 21 dated March 24, 2022 of the Provincial People's Council approving the targets for assigning tasks and placing orders for college and intermediate training for vocational training institutions in the province from the 2021-2022 to 2025-2026 school year enrollment period at Vinh Long Vocational College.

Joining the survey delegation were Mr. Nguyen Hieu Nghia - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Organization Committee; Ms. Le Thi Thuy Kieu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council.

Vinh Long Vocational College provides training at college, intermediate, elementary and regular levels, meeting the vocational training and recruitment needs of businesses. The implementation of the training targets set by Resolution No. 21, which is 500 intermediate level students and 100 college level students with permanent residence in the province, still faces some difficulties.

Accordingly, the quality of secondary school students is still low, there are still cases of dropping out and dropping out of school. The results of college level admissions are good every year, but the number of students with permanent residence in the province is not enough to meet the assigned quota. There is a shortage of lecturers in some subjects.

On this occasion, the school proposed to adjust the ordering budget according to Decision No. 19 dated July 13, 2021 of the Provincial People's Council on Promulgating training service prices at intermediate and college levels for 16 professions in the field of vocational education.

In addition, funding for equipment purchases according to the project to upgrade the secondary school to Vinh Long Vocational College. At the same time, supporting student tuition fees for some majors and occupations that are not exempted or reduced to attract students to study, ensuring the flow of students after high school to study at colleges. At the same time, allowing the policy of depreciation on revenue from orders.

Ms. Le Thi Thuy Kieu - Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council noted a number of issues that need attention.

Ms. Le Thi Thuy Kieu noted that it is necessary to strengthen coordination in extensive propaganda, orientation, and career guidance to stream and 100% of students understand the policy. There is a suitable strategy to attract many streams of students, including good and excellent students. Along with that, pay attention to training life skills, working skills in industrial style. At the same time, coordinate with reputable companies and businesses for students to do internships; regularly provide information about the labor market for students to grasp. In addition to teaching culture and expertise, it is necessary to develop youth work to build dreams and ambitions, towards self-reliance and career development... At the same time, research and develop more occupations according to market demand, from which there is a strategy to train occupations aimed at domestic and foreign markets.
