The Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province has developed a plan for the construction and renovation of school toilets by 2027. According to statistics, the entire province currently has 839 toilets that need to be built or renovated, of which 188 will be newly built and 651 will be renovated.
The investment cost for each new toilet is approximately 350 million VND, and 175 million VND for repairs, totaling nearly 180 billion VND, from the state budget.

According to the Ca Mau Provincial Department of Education and Training, in recent years, although the school system has been gradually upgraded, the physical infrastructure, especially the toilets which were built a long time ago, has seriously deteriorated, failing to meet hygiene requirements and directly affecting the health and psychology of students and teachers.
According to the Department of Education and Training, after implementing the policy of merging small school locations, the high student-to-class density has caused some restrooms to become overloaded and unable to meet the demand.
"The construction and renovation of school toilets is an essential and urgent need to ensure a safe, friendly, green, clean, and beautiful learning environment, in accordance with current standards," the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province stated.
At Thuan Hoa Primary School (Tan Thuan commune, Ca Mau province), there are currently over 300 students but only 2 toilets. Due to being old, everything is dilapidated, with mossy walls, water leaks, and poor lighting, so very few students use them. This is a major concern for the school.
Mr. Tieu Hoang Khoi, Principal of Thuan Hoa Primary School, said that after consolidating the scattered school locations, the number of students increased to over 100, resulting in inadequate and dilapidated toilets. Following the policy of the Provincial People's Committee, the school is delighted to have one toilet upgraded and another newly constructed.
In reality, many school toilets have seriously deteriorated, no longer meeting hygiene standards, affecting the health and well-being of students and teachers.

Mr. Pham Thanh Duy, Vice Chairman of the Tan Thuan Commune People's Committee, said that this program is very meaningful because it solves the current difficulties of schools in meeting the needs of students for restroom facilities. The commune will direct schools to regularly maintain and repair the facilities for long-term use, meeting the needs of students.
