On June 23, Thanh Hoa Department of Health sent a document to localities, medical facilities, and pharmaceutical businesses with recommendations not to use or trade fake Truong Tho rheumatism oil products.

The Thanh Hoa Department of Health announced that it has received a document from the Department of Traditional Medicine Management, Ministry of Health, regarding the handling of counterfeit drugs.

Accordingly, the Can Tho City Department of Health discovered that Truong Tho Duong facility (address: 22 Ngo Quyen Street, Tan An Ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City) was selling counterfeit Truong Tho rheumatism oil, manufactured by Trung Tam medicated oil facility (address: 180 Tung Thien Vuong Street, Ward 11, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City).

To protect the rights of drug users and prevent counterfeit and substandard drugs from circulating in the market, the Thanh Hoa Department of Health requires all drug businesses and users throughout the province to implement the following:

Under no circumstances should you trade or use counterfeit medicine bearing the information: Truong Tho Rheumatism Oil, manufactured by Trung Tam Medicated Oil Facility (address: 180 Tung Thien Vuong Street, Ward 11, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City).

Promptly provide information via the Thanh Hoa Department of Health's hotline (0237.3852263) upon discovering the aforementioned counterfeit drugs, smuggled drugs, or drugs of unknown origin.

The Thanh Hoa Provincial Center for Disease Control, in coordination with media agencies, is informing businesses and users of medicines in the province, as well as the general public, to prevent the trading and use of the aforementioned counterfeit drugs.

The Thanh Hoa Testing Center is intensifying sampling and quality control checks of drugs circulating in the area, focusing on those at risk of being counterfeit or substandard.

The functional departments of the Department of Health coordinate with relevant authorities to inspect and check pharmaceutical businesses, verify information and trace the origin of counterfeit drugs; and handle units and individuals who violate regulations.

The Thanh Hoa Department of Health has requested the Department of Industry and Trade to strengthen market management measures to promptly detect, prevent, and handle the production and sale of counterfeit drugs.

The Thanh Hoa Provincial Police directed police at all levels under its jurisdiction to inspect, verify, and trace the origin of the counterfeit medicine products.
