(Dan Tri Newspaper) - A biology teacher at a high school in Ca Mau has been disciplined for accepting unreasonable fees for tutoring literature for students.
On January 3rd, according to a source from Dan Tri newspaper, Phan Ngoc Hien High School (Nam Can district, Ca Mau province) issued a reprimand to Mr. NCN, a biology teacher at the school.
This teacher was disciplined for accepting unreasonable fees for tutoring students retaking exams, causing negative public opinion and affecting the reputation of the school's teaching staff, as well as the teacher's own reputation and that of colleagues.
Previously, Mr. NCN was accused of accepting money to "influence" the promotion of student K. (a 11th-grade student in Mr. N.'s homeroom class during the 2022-2023 school year) to the next grade, amounting to 7 million VND. The school has referred the case to the police for investigation.
According to verification by the Nam Can District Police, at the end of the 2022-2023 school year, Mr. N. arbitrarily organized tutoring in literature for student K. with the consent of K.'s parents, who paid him for the extra lessons.
According to the police, there is no basis to determine that Mr. N. abused his assigned expertise and duties to coerce or extort money from parents to inflate K.'s retake exam scores or improve his conduct grade; therefore, there are no signs of criminal activity.
