Discipline teachers who accept money to tutor students at unreasonable prices

(Dan Tri) - A biology teacher at a high school in Ca Mau was disciplined for accepting money to tutor literature to students at an unreasonable price.

On January 3, according to a source from Dan Tri reporter, Phan Ngoc Hien High School (Nam Can district, Ca Mau province) disciplined Mr. NCN, a biology teacher at the school.

This teacher was disciplined for accepting money to tutor students for re-exams at an unreasonable price, causing bad public opinion and affecting the reputation of the school's teaching staff, individuals and colleagues.

Previously, Mr. NCN was accused of receiving money to "influence" K. (an 11th grade student of whom Mr. N. was the homeroom teacher for the 2022-2023 school year) to move up to the next grade for a sum of 7 million VND. The school has transferred the case to the police for clarification.

Through verification by the Nam Can District Police, at the end of the 2022-2023 school year, Mr. N. arbitrarily organized tutoring in literature for student K. and received the consent of the student's parents to pay for the tutoring.

According to the police, there is no basis to determine that Mr. N. took advantage of his assigned expertise and profession to coerce or extort money from parents to inflate K.'s re-exam scores or conduct, so there is no sign of a crime.
