On September 4th, information from Cuc Phuong National Park (Ninh Binh) indicated that at the World Travel Awards ceremony held on the evening of September 3rd in Manila, Philippines, Vietnam's Cuc Phuong National Park surpassed many other strong competitors worldwide , such as Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park (Japan), Chitwan National Park (Nepal), Minnieriya National Park (Sri Lanka), Kinabalu and Taman Negara National Park (Malaysia), and Cat Tien National Park of Vietnam, to be honored in the category of Asia's Leading National Park 2024.

This also marks the sixth consecutive time since 2019 that Cuc Phuong National Park has received this prestigious title.
This award further affirms the attractiveness of ecotourism – a type of tourism that has been and is being exploited in national parks and nature reserves in Vietnam. It serves as a great impetus for Vietnamese forestry management agencies to continue developing strongly, promoting and maximizing the versatility of forests. At the same time, it is expected to be a "golden" opportunity to promote the image of Vietnam's beautiful nature and tourism globally.

The World Travel Awards are the world's leading awards in the tourism industry, held annually since 1993. To date, the awards have become the most prestigious and reputable brand globally in honoring outstanding achievements in the tourism industry across all sectors. These awards are often referred to as the "Oscars of world tourism".
Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh, Director of Cuc Phuong National Park, said that the award is not only an encouragement for Cuc Phuong but also a token of appreciation from the domestic and international community for the persistent efforts of many generations of Cuc Phuong National Park staff over the past 60 years.

Cuc Phuong National Park was established in 1962, with the main tasks of conserving natural resources and cultural, historical, and landscape values; maintaining the protective function of the forest; organizing scientific research activities, ecological environmental services, and environmental education.
Cuc Phuong National Park covers an area of 22,408 hectares across 14 communes and 4 districts in 3 provinces: Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh, and Thanh Hoa. Characterized by its tropical rainforest, Cuc Phuong boasts an invaluable biodiversity, making it one of Vietnam's most biodiverse areas with many rare and endangered plant and animal species listed in the Vietnamese Red Book.
Currently, Cuc Phuong has gradually developed and successfully operated a model for managing, protecting, researching, and exploiting ecotourism with the aim of educating and raising awareness in national parks and nature reserves.
Starting from Cuc Phuong National Park, a comprehensive system has been established nationwide, with improved legal frameworks, effective forest management and protection, numerous research achievements, and contributions to shaping Vietnam's ecotourism map.
