(CLO) From January 11th to 12th, 2025, at Flower Island, Pá Khoang commune, Điện Biên Phủ city, the Cherry Blossom Festival - Điện Biên Phủ will take place with a series of events rich in the cultural identity of ethnic groups, promoting the beauty of the hospitable land of Điện Biên.
This is an opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in the vibrant spring atmosphere of Dien Bien, a city that is rising on the tourism map.
The festival kicked off with an opening art program themed "The Muong Village in Spring - Cherry Blossoms in Bloom," promising spectacular cultural performances.

In the Flower Island area, more than 30 stalls showcasing OCOP products, culture, tourism, and cuisine will be displayed, along with a space recreating the culture of the three ethnic groups: Thai, Mong, and Khmu.
Visitors can directly experience traditional crafts such as rattan weaving, blacksmithing, and embroidery – long-standing cultural values of the highland people.
A highlight not to be missed is the "Flavors of Dien Bien" culinary competition, where visitors have the opportunity to enjoy and discover the unique flavors of the Northwest region.
In parallel, cultural and sporting activities such as stick pushing, tug-of-war, stilt walking, and kayak racing will liven up the festival atmosphere, providing a vibrant and colorful experience.
In 2018, the first cherry blossom event was held in Dien Bien to promote tourism and connect Vietnamese and Japanese cultures. By 2024, the event had been upgraded to a major festival, affirming Dien Bien's position on the Vietnamese tourism map.
The Cherry Blossom Festival - Dien Bien Phu 2025 will not only showcase beautiful images of the land and people of Dien Bien, but also create momentum to promote local economic and tourism development.
This will be an opportunity for domestic and international tourists to enjoy a spring full of colorful flowers and create unforgettable impressions of Dien Bien – a historical land full of vitality every spring.
