The second Krong Pac durian festival promises many special activities.

“The second Krong Pac – Dak Lak durian festival will satisfy tourists with a larger scale, more unique and meaningful activities”, affirmed the leader of Krong Pac district, Dak Lak province at the press conference to inform about the second Krong Pac – Dak Lak durian festival in 2024 held this morning (July 18).

With the theme "Krong Pac durian - Development and Integration", the festival will take place from August 31 to September 2, 2024.

The festival has 12 series of activities, including: competition for good durian farmers; fair to introduce OCOP products and potential local agriculture ; cultural and culinary festival of ethnic groups in Krong Pac district (expanded); experience of enjoying durian in the garden and visiting ancient durian trees; workshop on building and developing a sustainable durian ecosystem; cross-country race for community health; DJ night and light dance for art exchange between clubs, teams, and art groups...

With the theme "Development and Integration", the Krong Pac durian festival takes place from August 31 to September 2 with 12 special activities.

Ms. Ngo Thi Minh Trinh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Krong Pac district said: The whole district currently has about 8,000 hectares of durian, accounting for 1/3 of the durian area of ​​the whole Dak Lak province. This crop year, the total output is expected to reach over 92,000 tons. Durian has become a key crop bringing the main source of income for local people. After the first durian festival, farmers' lives have been somewhat improved and contributed to the local economic development.

The second Durian Festival of Krong Pac district, with a larger scale, more methodical organization, and more meaningful activities, will continue to honor durian growers and the economic values ​​that this fruit brings. At the same time, through the festival, it aims to connect and promote the potential strengths, investment opportunities in the production, processing and consumption of durian associated with the development of local culture and tourism.

Durian has become a staple crop providing the main source of income for the people of Krong Pac.

Ms. Ngo Thi Minh Trinh added: “We focus on improving the quality of durian. We organize seminars on developing a sustainable durian ecosystem to bring a good practical value to the market. The market we are looking for is not only the markets of the past years but also markets in more demanding countries and countries that consume more durian. In addition, there are products processed from durian to bring increasingly higher economic value to the locality.”
